Osage Beach Restaurants

  • Excellent Food and Service!

We had heard there was a new restaurant near the outlet malls so we decided to try it. We are so glad we did! The food and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We had our kids with us and it wasn't a problem at all, in fact they ended up getting play mustaches and having a great time putting them on and being goofy. The...

  • Great Seafood Nachos

Three levels of the restaurant, one indoor area where bands play, one open air lower deck and one upper level covered but a hut and has a bar, all overlooking the lake. also has a boat dock where you can park your boat right at the restaurantvery casual, during the summer all you need is a swimsuit. lots of eye candy to look at. • Best Kept Secret at the Lake

The food at HK's is simply put, FANTASTIC. What we liked about HK's was their menu offering steaks, seafood and pasta as well as Lamb and Veal. A pleasant dining experience where we could enjoy a great view of the Lake of the Ozarks and their beautiful japanese garden. They are open year round so in the summer we enjoy going by boat and throughout...

  • Best Steaks at the Lake

My husband is a steak fanatic and he says this is the best steak at the lake. I love their fish specials. It's kindof a romantic atmosphere, but you can wear shorts/jeans. They have a great wine list too. Service is always very good (the owner is always the one who greets and seats you) and the wait staff is always very accommodating and...

  • Romantic Waterfront Dining

In my opinion, The Duck has the best seafood at the Lake. I love their Red Snapper! My husband thinks their steaks are just okay. We love to go by boat to this restaurant and then dine outside on the deck overlooking the lake! Red Snapper

  • Best Mexican Restaurant

This is the best mexican food i have ever had. Anytime i go to the lake or even drive through it i always seem to find an excuse to stop here. I had the pescado last time and it was awesome. They also have a great queso/artichoke dip I think the pescado is my favorite but everything here is great. best margaritas at the lake

  • It's All Happening at the Toad Cove!

The Toad Cove is a premier destination at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Horny Toad is one of the restaurants. They serve everything from salads to sandwiches to chicken, fish or steak in a casual upbeat atmosphere. You can get to this place by car or boat. It's right on the water at the 7MM.

  • Good Italian Food in Osage Beach

My mother and I take regular shopping trips to Osage Beach and each time we go we either eat at The Pasta House or Mexican. This place is really good and reasonably priced, especially at lunch. Chicken Parmesan and their house salad, yummy!

  • Windrose on the Water

Intimate lakeside dining in a very romantic setting with a memorable view. A superb menue featuring beef, veal and seafood is complimented by a carefully selected wine list. The seafood platter is to die for.

Osage Beach Tourist Traps

  • JB Hooks Restaurant

by ballwinmom Written Jun 23, 2006

    Jb Hooks Restaurant
    2260 Bagnell Dam Blvd.
    Lake Ozark, MO 65049
    (573) 365-3255

Boy, if there is a prototype for a tourist trap, this restaurant is it. First, the billing of "best view of the lake." Well, it depends on where you sit. Mostly you have a good view of the bridge. But the biggest dissapointment about this restaurant is the outrageous, I mean OUTRAGEOUS prices. We're talking entrees that start at $28 and go up to $73 for the surf & turf. Average entree price is about $35. Drinks are equally as expensive, and forget about small prices on the kids' menu - how about $21 for a kid's size filet?

Granted, there are some restaurants around the country and abroad where prices such as this are warranted, and I've eaten in more than a few. When you're paying this kind of money, you expect spactacular food, outstanding service and a meal that will be memorable. Sometimes, you decide to pay for excellence. Not here. Oh, you pay, but waht you get is mediocre, passable and not at all memorable. The food is good but nothing special. The service is good to very good, but again, not outstanding. I'd say when you're in Missouri save your money for when you can go to Tony's or Busch's Grove in St. Louis and get what you pay for.

Unique Suggestions: Simply don't go unless you feel like being ripped off.

Favorite thing: You must stay at the Marriott's Tan-Tar-A Resort Goldf Club and Spa. There is so much to do, besides golfing. Whether for forte is golf, boating, horseback riding, bowling or racquet games, this resort is a must. You will have a great time. The keyword here is 'fun' and much of it!!

Fondest memory: So much to do and yet so close to nature. I love wandering throught this resort and marveling at its beauty.
