Summertime, bring the lightest clothing you have, it gets HOT here. Winters can be brutally cold, but only for a few days. Rain gear is handy to have all year around. Spring and fall are the best times, light clothing with a light jacket for night. Prescriptions and other personal items; pharmacies, Wal-Mart etc. are plentiful for the shampoo or shaving cream you forgot to bring. Lots of outdoor activity in Outstate - camping, hiking, canoeing, hunting and fishing. Summer nights can be hot and muggy. Keep the Bud cold and handy.

October was chilly and I think it sometimes snows in October. We used sweatshirts or jackets during the day and more layers at night. If you are going caving, you need good hiking shoes, long pants, and a sweater. A rain poncho could be handy too if it is not already snowing. For horseback riding, jeans and shoes with smooth bottoms are perfect.

There's no 'special bag' for a trip to Missouri. Just take the suitcase you like! Well, what can I say about the weather... Always don't just take one thing (I mean, don't take JUST t-shirts or JUST sweatshirts), because the weather in Missouri is changing nearly hourly. I was here, and on a Friday we had about 70 degrees and sunshine, the next day we had 20 degrees and snow... But in the summer it gets really hot and humid here.
