The best way to get to St. Joseph is by car or bus.
Once you reach St. Jo, take one of the First Street Trolley cars. These are reproductions of streetcars from earlier times. The trolley stops at many of the most popular and historic sites and is an economical way to experience the full flavor of St. Joseph. The trolley also connects the hotels along Interstate 29 with downtown, Riverfront Park and the major historical areas.
Hours of operation are: 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday, May-October. All day passes are $3.50 adults, $1.75 youth (6-18 years)and seniors and the handicapped.

Pony Express riders used horses. If you don't have a horse then you might need a car. From Pony Express museum there are a few places close enough to walk to. This picture is of an exhibit inside the Pony Express Museum. That joker in the yellow shirt is not part of the exhibit.
