Yes, summers are HOT and HUMID
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In summer, get ready to sweat! Out of town family members whine about the heat and humidity constantly.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring allergy medication! ST. Louis is ranked in the top 5 for allergies because of the humidity and deciduous forests. We sneeze a lot!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Beach? What beach? They call them beaches but they are shallow areas on rivers or man-made beaches on small, stinky lakes.
Must have's from a local
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Always check the forecast. The weather is very unpredictable. We have all four seasons and some joke that we have them all in one week. It can be bitterly bone chilling in winter, or as pleasant as a warm spring day - no telling. Also always bring an umbrella, a light jacket, and consider layers. It does rain from time to time, and sometimes unpredictably. Plan on layers for fall, winter, and spring months. You just never know. Summer is notoriously HOT in St. Louis, although can also be very pleasant. Remeber we don't have a breeze from the coast, so plan on sweating. We love our AC. For winter (Dec.-Mar.) don't even think about leaving your wool at home. A heavy coat, hat, scarf, gloves, and even long underwear are essential. Wool sweaters with Tee Shirts under are good. When you get inside you will want to take the outer layer off.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: We are a river city, so if you are coming during the late spring to early fall you will find mosquitos lingering in the early morning and after the sun begins to set. Not like the tropics, but you can count on a bite or two.
Miscellaneous: If you are driving, keep in mind we St. Louisans are full of road rage. Just get use to it. No we aren't as bad as NY or LA, but you may get a little frustrated if you aren't use to aggressive driving. We aren't full of southern hospitality either. It is a racially and socially divided town - to an extent. But we make an effort to all get along. Now we aren't all bad either. It's a very family oriented city. So if you are single don't expect the posh nighttime attractions of more cosmopolitan cities. We are on the upswing however. Jazz is making a footprint again on the local scene. Hip hop of course is huge here. Plenty of places to drink and get your groove on, but remember to be sensitive to all types and all colors. And of course use your head when you go out at night. Beware of "The East Side." If you go to IL, keep your senses about you. There are some great daytime attractions for locals and visitors in "The Lou." So don't miss them.

One of everything!
Luggage and bags: If one is going to come to St Louis via the airport and the metro, then pack in one rolling suitcase. The metro link is EXTREMELY easy to use but it is a commuter system and one suitcase with a small backpark or computer case is all that you will have room for!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Expect all ranges of weather changes. Always try for a long range weather forecast prior to packing. PACK MOSQUITO REPELLANT...unless it is December.

Just about everything!!!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Depending on when you come, you should bring a variety. Spring time bring shorts, jeans, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt., jacket, and a coat. Summer time bring shorts, t-shirt, and comfortable sneakers. Fall time bring the same as spring time. Winter time pack as many sweaters, long sleeve shirts, jeans, long johns, pretty much anything that will help keep you warm. Just keep in mind, no matter what season it is, the weather in St.Louis is always changing. Always bring something to wear for rain. It never seems to fail that at least one day will have rain or something. So just pack for any type of weather possible.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: It never hurts to have a first aid kit handy. Keep one in your car and go to like a Bass Pro Shop or a Walgreens and pick up ones that fit in your jacket pocket. They come in handy!!
Photo Equipment: Make sure you have lots of film handy!!! There is a lot to see and do and if you don't have film handy, you'll be kicking yourself later.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: There is a number of outdoor areas to go to. Just pack the normal stuff you would generaly need for those situations. Also go on a float trip down one of the rivers, it's a lot of fun for everyone.
Miscellaneous: If you have sinus problems, pack a lot of medication for it. The humidity will make them worse. Just be prepared for anything and everything you can think of.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ugh, it can be pretty humid in St. Louis in the summer, so you'll definitely want shorts then. In the fall and spring, weather can vary (my visits in May and March were very much on the cool side). Winter is supposedly icy and cold, so, winter clothes of course. It's the midwest, folks.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In the summer, lightweight clothes will usually do. But expect some rain, humidity, and sun. We get some really strong storms. In the spring and fall you never know what to expect---pack everything! In the winter, it can get quite cold, you'll need a heavy coat most of the time.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: No camping in St. Louis. But Forest park is a good place for rollerblading, biking, fishing, ice skating in the winter, row boating or paddle boating, or just walking. It's a big park. Not only does it have the zoo and Art Museum, but it has a wonderful out door theatre in the summer (the Muny); as well as botanical places like The Jewel Box with seasonal floral displays, and a very nice free history museum.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Be prepared for great variations in weather that are often NOT forecasted on the Weather channel (or any other weather information provider). It has all too often happened that a reportedly clear day turned rainy or vice versa.
