If you can, while in St.Louis, go watch any sporting event you can. The games are always good, the fans are great, the food is good(a little $$, just like anywhere), and the experience will last forever. If you go to a Cardinals game, show up early and you can get autographs from some of the players. They are really friendly and enjoy giving autographs, they really enjoy seeing the kids faces as they give them a signed ball. It is such a great sports town!!! No matter what event you go to, you will have a good time!!!
Baseball- bring a baseball cap, baseball glove(if you have good seats), a jacket for some night games, a camera, and money to buy food and or souviners. Hockey- bring money for food and souviners, and if your close to the action, keep an eye on the puck!!!!!!!!!!! Football- bring the same as above. Just remember to bring a camera to any of these. You never know what you might be able to get a picture of. And some of the diffrent booths will sell diffrent shirts and stuff, but they all run the same price. New ball park by LauraWest Cheering with a stadium full of Cards fans has to be one of the best St. Louis experiences!! I got to go to a game this August, in the new stadium, with 104 F temperature! But we were lucky to be sitting in the shade. Had a great time! At night, the lights were blazing & you really can see inside from the street, just by walking by. What an amazing glimpse & architectual choice to behold. All the seats appear to good ones, too. I sat in the Upper level and had no complaints. During Play Offs, I took the Tour, with my brother and younger daughter. For $10, you get to see a lot of the inside of the stadium and stand behind Home Plate and visit the Cards dug out. Tour was a lot of walking, so not recommended if you can't walk for an hour. Good picture taking opts. The Cardinals new "nest" fits in with the classic red brick architecure of old St. Louis, with huge arches of real brick! Looks very good. If you're interested, there's lots of info & a web cam on their web site. A web site that could keep a fan busy for hours!
Lots of money for the beer (yes, the beer really does cost $8 a cup) & foods, sunscreen, ball cap...oh, you know what to bring!!! The veggie burgers were unusally large and one of the lowest prices on the menu They tasted Ok, too. You can bring your own water, in plastic bottles, which I highly recommend. Their bottles cost $4.50 each!!! And drinking fountains are not that plentiful. See their site, for what you can and cannot bring inside. Leave a Comment

This is the real heart of downtown. All living beings I saw in downtown Saint Louis were walking to or from Bush Stadium. Even I, knowing absolutely nothing about baseball, hesitated facing the idea of getting myself a ticket to see the Cardinals. And I was "obliged" to buy a Pujol's red shirt to Horacio (he is a Benfica's supporter, so red is his colour). To balance things, Tito defends my Sporting (green), and... oh my luck, green was the colour of Philadelphia baseball team, so the second shirt... Leave a Comment Theme: Sports Watching

by sambarnett Round and soulless on the outside, Busch Stadium proves why one should not judge a book by its cover. The inside, thanks to a massive renovation a few years back, is full of vibrant reds and greens. From the arches circling the upper deck rim to the statues of legendary players outside to the garden of retired numbers in the centerfield upper deck, local touches abound, giving Busch so much more personality than any of the other late 60s/early 70s cookie cutters. The fans are friendly and loyal. The seats might look emptier than attendance figures indicate, but at any game at least 75% of the spectators are wearing red, thus blending into their seats. A visit here leaves little doubt why Cardinals fans are often referred to as some of the best fans in baseball. And a visit here should be in order for the baseball fan as the stadium's days appear to be numbered. It's no Sportsman's Park, but Busch Stadium is a fine place to catch a ballgame. As mentioned in my intro, I almost caught a homer by Mark McGwire, but did appear on ESPN since the homer was so close. The stadium is nothing special, but the fans are very knowledgeable and loyal. Red everywhere. Theme: Sports Watching

In 2005 many high school friends from Vermont met me in St. Louis for a weekend we will never forget. It was a weekend any sports fan would have appreciated. We hung out at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park on the Mississippi River under the Gateway Arch. It was absolutely amazing. We could not get tickets to the final game because Illinois was a final team but we landed ourselves at Show Me's a great bar/restaurant located in the heart of downtown (two thumbs up). GO HEELS!!!!!
