St Louis Renaissance Faire... Vive Le...

by aphrodyte Updated Jul 1, 2003

In comparison to the many other faires out there, STL Ren is one of the youngest, only 5 years old.

Set in a wooded area in Rotary Park, the fair started out as an all tent fair with merchants and makeshift stages. This year, there are newer and more permanent structures lining the groves and walkways. And as more and more people are hearing and visiting the faire, plans to enlarge the area will ensue.

The faire is set in France during the time of King Henry II. The French royal court walks throughout the grounds and are very approachable. There is the great Ren food, jousting and robust merriment. I think what is significant is the attention to the children that visit the faire. There is much importance in making sure the children that they are welcomed when they visit and leave happy.

Don't get me wrong, this is a faire for ALL ages. Whether you come in costume or in regular wear. You WILL enjoy yourself. Lots of shade and seating. Don't miss the pickle guy...he's funny or the the puppet guy, or the belly dancers or the pirates...HECK...don't miss a thing!

The 2003 season for this year's St Louis Ren Faire had just passed. However, do not fret, plans for next years St Louis Ren Faire is underway. Next year's 2004 schedule will be, the fair will be from May 15-16, May 22-23, May 29-31(Sat/Sun + Memorial Day), and June 5-6.

Hope to see you there next year!!
