If you don't like the weather now, wait 5 minutes
Luggage and bags: The weather here can change in a heart beat. We know how to read the sky - it is the only reasonable way to see what is coming. It is not uncommon in the fall and spring to have the heater on in the morning and evening and the AC during the day. The temps have wide spans. Not as bad as Eastern Montana, where you could have 100 deg. swing in the weather, but it is bad enough.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: We know you are not a local if you wear shorts in the winter. We think you are stupid.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: You are close to the mountains. If you want to go skiing or camping - it is not far from Billings.

- Adventure Travel
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The biggest thing to keep in mind about packing for a trip to Billings or Montana is that the weather can change quickly. I have seen it snow in July and I have worn shorts in December. Bring clothing that can be layered. Expect some cold weather - but as Billings is a dry climate - it seldoms rains here.
