Two large scale forest fires...
Two large scale forest fires are presently burning adjacent this scenic National treasure. To the south, a huge fire is raging in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area, and the other is located in the vicinity of Whitefish, Montana. This photograph shows how the drift smoke from both of those fires is changing the appearance of the mountains and canyons in the park.

We noticed that after a group on horseback passed us by near McDonald Falls, the path was cleared of anything the horses dropped during their promenade. I must say that this is really appreciated by us simple folks on foot!
Logan Pass is closed during...
Logan Pass is closed during winter, on the park's web-site you can track the progress of the snow-clearing team. They proudly announced the re-opening of the pass showing a videoclip of the victorious team. Unfortunatley by the time we arrived two weeks later, the pass was closed again. Despite this setback, Glacier is still one of the greastest parks!

Approaching East Glacier, St. Mary's from the south. The highway is a slow, curveiliner road. Drive safely and slowly while enjoying this breath taking scenery. This is God's incredible creation.
