The Gold Strike Gift shop is adjoined to the "famous" Yellowstone Mine resturant and the Best Western Hotel. What really made this gift shop special was the wonderful woman who worked there. She was such a sweet lady. She would give us backstories on the items we were looking at, letting us know which items were locally made, who made them, where the artist lived and a little bit about how the items were created. Knowing a little of the history made everything I purchased just that much more special. I always try and support local artisans in my souvernier purchasing, hopefully one day I'll be one! (a local artisan that is, not a souvenier...sheesh)
What to buy: I purchased a couple x-mas ornaments, a magnet, huckleberry tea and a wooden vase. Everything was locally made...well except for the tea....
What to pay: Everything was quite reasonable
