There are elk burgers here, a meat that is not always easy to come by. They also have great huckleberry pie. I had the cream pie and the folks had the other pie. I had to try the huckleberry soda also.
We ordered at the bar and then they brought the food out to us. The service was happy and really good.
They also have preserves for sale. Not just the huckleberry, like across the street, but pickles and other home made items.
Hungry Horse is a very small town of about 800 (down 12% from 2000) located along US Highway 2 in Northwest Montana not too far from Glacier National Park. There is not much here but the scenery is great. Make sure you stop at the pulloff on the highway to see Bad Rock Canyon, and the Flathead River.
Fondest memory: The beautiful scenery.
