The Lighthouse is Valier's one and only sit-down restaurant. The locals pride themselves on this quaint diner and bar. The decor is that of a small Italian diner- white tablecloths, candles on every table, a tray of desserts as you walk in to sit down.
The restaurant itself has a maximum seating capacity of roughly 30 people, the bar is maybe 20.
For out of towners, please remember that this restaurant is Valier's taste of city living- don't be surprised if you see Grandma's special pearls adorning the woman sitting next to you, or a group of older men wearing their Sunday best.
The service can be slow, but be patient. Everything in Valier is just a bit slower than usual. That's why it is so charming.
Favorite Dish: The food is mainly American- cheeseburgers, sandwiches, chef salads, maybe a lasagna here or there.
I ordered the chef salad. It was very good- although it was served in a tiny bowl that made eating the salad quite hysterical!
They have 3 desserts available everyday- there is no menu, check out the tray near the bar. We had the chocolate cake- it was pretty good!Related to:
