Whitehall may not be a final destination for many of us (unless you are cavers going to the Lewis & Clark Caverns) but it is worth stopping to stretch and see the murals.

Many of the buildings in this little town have large murals, usually with a Lewis & Clark theme.

Well I thought for the longest time that whitehall was just a nice small town that was boring. Thats so far from the truth the more I get out and explore.

Kiteboarding is phenomenol The wind blows EVERY DAY that means if its light i'm cruising on a mountain board or if its nukin i'm jumping 20-30 feet up STRAIGHT UP.

Paragliding as far as i know there are alot of sites around montana. None of which have 4 drive sites located within 20miles of each other. The bull mountain site is a P-2 non rated thermal site that is great for going up WAAAYYYY up try 10,000 or more feet. The waterloo site is a permission only p-3 non rated site that I have not yet launched off of.

Just the merest whisper of a tip here, merely a couple of minor observations:

Some may rate H&W's rootbeer as the best, but personally I thought it was disgusting!

As to the rest of the menu - this is fast "road food", food as fuel, but none the worse for it.

Favorite Dish: My first experience of a chilli-dog with extra cheese and onions - a bit sloppy to eat, but tasty enough and cheap!

Whitehall Warnings and Dangers

  • by CrazZ Written Oct 1, 2008

When coming into whitehall watch out for the Popo's Ever since our beloved topper has left we have a wake of Idiots. I've noticed that many innocent people are targeted for stupid stuff when the real traffic criminals just drive on by. I literally sit and watch trucks barrel through town at 40+ mean while the little ol lady next door is almost going to jail for breaking the seat belt law. Beware these aren't choosen police by the city but actually put here by our worthless county seat which is 40 miles away that whitehall pays 80% of the taxes. So next time your in the hall watch out i guess if you don't have 51 montana plates it might not matter.

Another warning is the influx of hotsprings people renova is heavily watched these days simply cause its a small pool with alot of out of town interest.
