  • Relax in the Park

Gibbon, Nebraska has a nice, shady park in the middle of town. From highway 30 you would take the overpass northward and at the end of the overpass turn west. At the stop sign turn south and the park will be on your right. The park has a nice memorial marker honoring the pioneers who settled this town. My wife is a descendant of one of them.

GIBBON, NEBRASKA IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO SEE A SMALL-TOWN 4TH OF JULY PARADE. We went this year (2006) expecting it to be maybe a 15-minute parade. It lasted an hour! It was great fun. Here are five sample photos from the parade.

Visit the Audubon Center at the Rowe Sanctuary south of Gibbon. From the Gibbon exit on Interstate 80, go 2 miles south, then two miles west on gravel.

If you can visit during the last two weeks of March or the first week of April, you will see the migration of the Sandhill Cranes through this area. But visit anytime.

Click the photo to see four more snapshots of the Audubon Center.
