THE NEWLY EXPANDED AND REMODELED library is spacious and beautiful. It is a peaceful and relaxing place to visit and catch up on reading, perhaps a newspaper or two and a favorite magazine, if not a book.
A nice variety of railroad-associated activities for all ages. In 2007 it was held on the 4th Saturday and Sunday in June, so I am assuming that is when it is held each year.

Located along highway 281 between Interstate 80 and Grand Island itself, the Stuhr museum is a first-rate museum with both indoor and outdoor components. The indoor part is contained in the moderistic building shown in the photo. This building is entirely surrounded by a wide moat, and you must cross a bridge to enter. The outside component is "Railroad Town", a recreated pioneer village that includes the home of famed actor, the late Henry Fonda, who was born in Grand Island. This museum is well worth a visit.
