FOR YEARS NOW, we have used Graham Tire & Automotive on north 2nd Avenue for ourcar repairs. They have treated us fairly and well.
Location: on the west side of 2nd Avenue, just a block or two north of 56th Street.
Seriously, if you would find yourself needing to buy a used car, I would recommend two places: Lichti's (pictured) and Stan's (in second photo)
Lichti's is located on the north side of highway 30 out on the east edge of town in the industrial park area.
Stan's is also located on the north side of highway 30, but farther into town, maybe about Avenue K or so.
We have bought cars from both and both have been fair and square to deal with.
KEARNEY HAS AN UNUSUAL BUSINESS CALLED MASTER'S TRANSPORTATION. IT SELLS BUSSES. They buy them, fix them up, and sell them. Yellow school busses, commercial busses, large, medium and small.
Master's Transportation, as I understand it, has three locations in the United States. In addition to Kearney, Nebraska, they are in New Iberia, Louisiana, and Kansas City, Missouri (or maybe its Kansas City, Kansas).
They are east of town on the north side of Highway 30. Just look for all the busses.
Gas prices tend to be highest down near the interstate, and less in town. If you do not have to use a credit card for your gasoline, the cheapest gas in town is usually at the "Gas-Stop", which is at 12th Street and 2nd Avenue (2nd ave is the street leading in from the Interstate.) They accept cash or checks only, but you should ask if they will accept out-of-town checks first. Just as an example, gas was at least 2.27 per gallon at many stations today (Jan. 27, 2006) and at the Gas-Stop it was 2.16. Its on the east side of 2nd Ave.
Corvettes are transprtation, right? There is a Corvette Show held out at the Archway Monument usually once a year. In 2007 it was held on August 11th (a Saturday) from 6 to 8 pm.
pictures attached.
THIS IS THE CAR WASH that I usually use. Its called the "Buggy Bath" car wash and is on the east side of 2nd Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets.
