Niobrara State Park is located at the confluence of the missouri and the Niobrara Rivers. There are cabins and campsites available here (I did not use them) along with hunting, fishing, a swimming pool, beaches, trails for horses, bikes and hikers, and activities for winter too. Start your tour at the visitor's center where you will pay your fee and can collect information, maps, and brochures to help you enjoy yor visit. Hours are 8 AM to 6 PM daily on season and 8 AM to 12 PM, and 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday off-season.
The state park is a beautiful location along the untamed Missouri River. It's a set of bluff where the Niobrara River joins the Missouri River. Open pastures and many scenic views. The Overlook is a good location to take in the views of both rivers. It's at the end of the Cabin road, along the top of a bluff, overlooking the Missouri. South Dakota stretches as far as the eye can see.
