Each June the eight best college baseball teams in America square off in Omaha. Starting in 2011 the CWS is played in brand new TD Ameritrade Stadium, which by all reports is state of the art.
The photo shows the famous celebration statue which used to be at Rosenblatt Stadium but now is relocated to TD Ameritrade. IT is based on an actual photograph. The young man on the right played for Creighton University and in 2011 was the head coach of the University of Virginia baseball team.
I couldn't go to the CWS this year to see the new stadium but this is what it looked like to the ESPN crew that covered the games.

Omaha is the home of the College World Series. The games take place at Rosenblatt Stadium, and offer the most exciting baseball matches.
The Texas Longhorns (56-16) claimed their sixth national title overall going a perfect 5-0 during CWS play en route to the crown.

College World Series: Always happens in the middle of June at Rosenblatt Stadium. Get some tickets and enjoy. Paulis is a popular place for people to hang out after the games.
Husker Football: It's about an hour drive to Lincoln, but it's fun to go at least once to a Husker game.
Hockey: Omaha has the UNO hockey team which is always a fun game to go to. The minor league Knights and Lancers also are big games to go to as well.
Basketball: Creighton plays at the Qwest Center. The newness of the Qwest and the talent of the team has gotten some big crowds, but I suspect that'll level off after the Qwest ages or the team goes through some growing pains.

If you have time, you can drive to Lincoln (about 50 miles away) to watch the University of Nebraksa Cornhuskers play football. The atmosphere is great, the football is too. Try to wear red!
