Valentine National Wildlife Refuge Favorites
Favorite thing: Valentine National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1935 to protect a portion of the Sandhills and their wildlife. Valentine is one of more than 500 national wildlife refuges in the US and because of the unique terrain it protects was designated a National Natural Landmark. It is located about 20 miles South of the town of Valentine along US Highway 83. It is a pretty area and I saw quite a bit of wildlife here.
