Before and after Universtiy of Nebraska football games there are extensive tailgating parties everywhere around the stadium for blocks and blocks. Generally the folks are welcoming of "strangers" who are visiting or just passing through. If you are a people person, try to strike up conversations with these folks. It can be a lot of fun.
