Parking Fee at the Hoover Dam Visitor Center
I was surprised to pay for parking at the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, the current parking fee is advertised as $7.
Unique Suggestions: I recognize that they built a wonderful, nice covered parking structure, so this fee is to help recover their costs. I was just not expecting this fee since I had arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and missed the last tour of the day.
Fun Alternatives: If you want free parking, you need to drive across the dam to the Arizona side - there are a couple of parking lots- but bring your walking shoes it is quite a distance to the visitor center.

When visiting the Hooverdam...
When visiting the Hooverdam your not allowed to take items with you that won't fit through the X-Ray scanner. The actual size is posted all around the dam also nearby the elevators if you park at the Nevada side. A back pack won't be allowed. Larger objects have to be brought down using the large cranes located at the Nevada site of the dam.
