It will take a long, long drive through the desert to get here, unless you take a plane. I noticed there were a lot of private aircraft at the little airport on the north side of town.

Coming from California or western Nevada, travel on US Highway 50 -- the Loneliest Road in America. See Nevada as it really is, unchanged. Visit Fallon, Austin and Eureka on the way. Ely is served by small turbo prop planes from both Reno and Salt Lake City
