Information / Sources: How To Save in Vegas
One great thing about Las Vegas is that it can be REALLY inexpensive. You can get great deals on flights and rooms, food, shows, even gambling.

If you plan on flying, check w/ a travel agent and get a package deal- sometimes you can get like 4 days 3 nights flight and room for around $200 a person (sometimes cheaper!) If you are driving out- and just need a room- go to the hotel's website and you can usually get a better deal. Also- book the most inexpensive room and when you get there, if there are luxury rooms left you can upgrade for next to nothing.

There is a magazine called 'What's On in Las Vegas' I think they are free at the hotel usually. This will tell tou everything that's going on the month that you're there and there are tons of coupons in it. If you fly you usually get a coupon book on the plane- don't throw it away, there are some great deals in them and usually they will take you somewhere that you might not go ( Texas, Sunset, the Station hotels usually have good deals and Sunset station is great- although off the strip.) If you don't fly check with your hotel- they usually have them too. The coupons are for things like $3 off buffet or $2 at black jack table or two free drinks in a certain lounge.

Any show that you want to see- there's a good chance that you could go for next to nothing- sometimes nothing! Sit down at a table in the hotel that the show is in- play for a while and almost 7 times out of 10 a pit boss will offer free show tickets to someone at the table. Or talk to your dealer- if you've dropped a lot of money at the table then he may be able to help you out.

The cards that track what you've spent gambling are also good to get- it takes about 3 minutes to get one and the more you gamble the more free stuff you can get- from souvineers to food to shows!

Information / Sources: the map shows that it is right next door.
the map shows that it is right next door. this may be true or not if you have a map that only shows the hotels/casinos. the paris is right next door and attached to ballys. also barbary coast is right next door to the flamingo.
however the monte carlo is not right next door to the new york new york.
also many maps show the distance from the barbary coast to the venetian and from the barbary coast to the mgm to be about the same. it is not barbary coast to vevetian is 0.7 miles. barbary coast to MGM is 1.41 miles. also if you plan to cross over from one side of the strip to the other. it is not alowed between the paris to a good distance south of the aladdin.

Information / Sources: Tuesday Nights in Vegas? Weekday nights?

A VTer asked in the Forum if a Tuesday night in June would be nice in Vegas --- less people? but less fun?

It may be a little warm on that Tuesday night in June but it will still be loaded with fun in the city that never sleeps. Being a weekday, there are better hotel deals, still lots of people but much less than during the weekend!

However, major concerts are usually on Saturdays as you can see on the list of Vegas concerts at http://www.wedoitallvegas.com/Las-Vegas-Concerts.asp

And yes, there's even a website that is solely dedicated on what to do in Vegas on Tuesday nights! Visit http://www.bachelorvegas.com/options/tuesdays.html

But basically, every day of the week in Vegas has something to offer --- there is reason why it has become one of the top tourist destinations!

Seeing Vegas for the first time at night time when I was I teenager...amazing lights in the middle of the desert

Information / Sources: Entertainment Book (Part 3) ~Attractions~
This is a must for any vacation in America! This is a thick book composed of "buy-1-get-1-free" coupons to hundreds of places. There is a fine dining or classy section of coupons. There is also a casual section. For those who like Jack in the Box and other informal restaurant, they have that section too. In addition, there are quite a few coupons to various shops and online companies, which offer 25% and below off products. And Finally, there are many hotels listed in the back of the book which offer 50% off rack room rates. The list contains all the participants across the U.S. You can usually finds these books at colleges and universities or you can buy one online at http://www.entertainment.com. These books usually go on sale around October and they all expire November the following year. Usually around February, you can get the books around half price, just because the company doesn't want to get stuck with any printed books. I just bought 2 books for Vegas at $12.50 each, which includes free shipping. Below, is a list of all the fine dining and casual restaurants which offer the "buy-1-get-1-free." I have only listed the restaurants in Vegas, however, there are a few in Henderson, Boulder City, Bullhead City, Jean, Mesquite, and Laughlin. My other page entitled: Entertainment Book (Part 1), has a list of all the fine dining & casual coupons listed in the book. And my other page entitled: Entertainment Book (Part 2), has a list of all informal coupons listed in the book.
