Favorite thing: The city of Las Vegas can suck the $$$$ out of you in a jiffy. With the food, the gambling, the shows, it can all add up in the end. So, I suggest you BUDGET! Esp. when you plan to gamble lots in Vegas. Make sure you don't write cheques your arse cannot cash (literally too) or you'll regret it. HEHEHEHHE
The inhabitants of Las Vegas are all very friendly and make jokes. I liked that. We stayed almost the whole night, because when you are on the strip, even if you do not gamble you enjoy this fairy tale!
Fondest memory: Everything that is so glittery, that is does not like real. For one night (or more) you think life on earth is just fun, music, dancing and drinking.
But the next morning you remember the naked truth. For me specially it was a great coming back to earth, because I was partying on the 10th september and we all know what happened the next day. So you see, go there and forget your sorrow in Las Vegas.
Fondest memory: I was a kid, and we had been driving with my cousins all night across the desert from LA, with the heat on! The radiator on my cousin's car was malfunctioning and he needed to run the heat to keep the car from overheating. Not even the kids had gotten much sleep when we arrived in Los Vegas early in the morning. We were absolutely in the middle of nowhere, when suddenly, shimmering on the horizon was a swirling multicolored mirage. Our mouths hung open in amazement. We stopped for breakfast and my mother lost a nickel in the slot machines to demonstrate to us kids the evils of gambling.
There is so much to see and do in Vegas, and try to go to most of the Hotels, because each one has something unique to offer. But go and see the Priate ship battle at Buccaneer bay which is at Treasure Island. It is a great show with lots of pyrotechnics, and it is also free every night during the year.
Fondest memory: The fondest memory was everything, because it is wonderful, but seeing the Cirque De Soile, was the most amazing thing, I have ever seen, and it is a must see. Pay the price, even though the tickets range from $88-$122 per person, it is worth every penny. It is very hard to get tickets, call in advance, or go straight to the box office, when you first arrive, or else you won't get to see it.
Enjoy the freedom to its fullest!!!
Coming from pretty conservative and strict country, first thing I noticed was that in Vegas nothing is forbidden. Drinking sprits on the street or in the malls, smoking indoors (anywhere), parking is free (except in downtown).
Fondest memory: Incredible trust can be felt among people on the street. I've even seen people counting their winnings right on the street at night. Everybody knows that if you come to Vegas you want to have fun and relax. We felt the same...
Favorite thing: What's a trip to Las Vegas without seeing a show and the showgirls. These dancers were part of Bill Acosta's impersonation show. Bill's part of the show was only mediocre at best (he's not doing many current celebrity impersonations), but most of the showgirls were topless during the show, and we got reduced price tickets.
Go to as many hotel's and there casino's as you can as each hotel offers some kind of show that will have something of interest for everyone. :-)
Fondest memory: I loved everything about this place, the nightclubs, casino's and all the shows.
Going to the Grand canyon was a very good experience as well...!
Talk about service with a smile. I really have to commend the personnel that we dealt with while in Vegas, everyone was sooo nice. I don't know how they do it, dealing day in and day out with drunk tourists...kudos to them.
Fondest memory: Even the people on the sidewalks who handed out the adds for prostitutes were very polite...only handing the cards to the men in our party :)
Favorite thing: I had lived in Las Vegas before for 18 months. Whenever I go back there to visit friends, the city is just different. You have to stroll along the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) after dark. Las Vegas is not just a gambling city. If you want to, you can go skiing on the mountain and go sailing at Lake mead. It's one of the most exciting cities in US.
I WOULD TOUR THE MAJOR CASINOS ON THE STRIP TO INCLUDE PARIS,BELLAGIO,FLAMINGO HILTON,MGM,MANDALYN BAY,NEW YORK NEW YORK, BUT OF MY FAVORIT CASINO TO VISIT IS BELLAGIO.
Fondest memory: VEGAS HAS AN APPEAR THAT NO OTHER VACATION SPOT HAS.IT WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE FOR ME IN THAT I ALWAY AVOIDED GOING THERE BECAUSE OF PRECEIVED IDEAS. WHEREAS, ORLANDO IS A FAMILY ORIENTED TOWN,BASICALLY FOR THE KIDS IN THE FAMILY,VEGAS HAS ENTERTAINMENT FOR EVERYBODY. MANY HOTELS HAVE THEIR OWN AMUSEMENT PARKS FOR KIDS WHILE PARENTS CAN PLAY THE SLOTS. VEGAS IS A FUN CITY.
Aladdin had the best real stores.
Paris had several nice smelling restaurants in their mall and the boulangie smelled good too.
The 7.95 steak and Eggs at Balleys was quite good. Be careful with the hostess-she trys to sit people in the back wall area between the 2 entrances to the kitchen and right next to the wait staff station and against the wall. When we conplained-she said she was just trying to help the new wait staff. Maybe it was just today but from what the other waiter waiter said is that she often trys to stick someone back there even when there is room else where.
Play blackjack at the Vegas Club in the Freemont Light district. Best odds for blackjack in all of Vegas.
Fondest memory: Gambling all night (which included many cocktails), eating a bounty at the Dugout Cafe, and then hitting the links for a great round of golf the next morning at 8 am!
The place is always going 24 hours a day. If you like people
watching this is the place to go.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory was the day I spent in Death Valley. The
temperature was 118 degress but it was 'cool'.
The first thing you have to do when you get to Vegas is walk down the strip. It doesn't matter whether it's day or night, drop the luggage and set off. You'll wander around, your jaw dropping as you take in the fantastic hotels and the buzz of activity.
Fondest memory: Vegas is a 24 hour city. The place never stops, and as a result there is a real addictive buzz about the place.
Stay up all night if you can, nothing changes, people sit all night in the casino's and nothing ever shuts.
When I got home to the UK, everything shuts at 11pm!
