Just a few miles south of the strip, Las Vegas airport is a convenient gateway to the city. However, if you are transferring here, this might be a big pain in the butt. I flew into Terminal A on US Airways with a transferring flight on United. The departure monitors in Terminal A do not even show the United flights, so I had to wander around for 20 minutes just to try and figure out which gate my flight would leave from. After wandering Terminals A & B and seeing nothing, I realized I had to head toward Terminals C & D, and out of the secure area, to find monitors and get to these terminals. Turns out my flight departed from Terminal D, so back through a different security point to Terminal D. I don't know about you, but for me the security checkpoint where they strip you down and search your carry-on items is the worst part of flying (especially when you have to deal with a bag of liquids, a laptop, jacket, shoes, a bag, and everything in your pockets)... The last thing I want to do is repeat the wonderful security experience. Probably the coolest thing in the Vegas airport is the slot machines throughout the terminal. I was very surprised to discover Las Vegas Airport was the 10th busiest airport in the world with about 44 million passengers in 2005. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane
