Located in the heart of Mandalay Bay right off the casino. Great place to listen to a mix of ecclectic live music. Becomes packed dance floor on weekends. There is a bar for drinks and tables for dinner. Highly recommended.
The House of Blues Foundation Room is at the top floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The view of the Strip from the patio is incredible but you have to be a member or be with a member to get in.
I have been to House of Blues' before, but WOW did the vegas spot have some nice venues lined up! Fat Joe was there one Friday, and he rocked the house.... there was rock bands there before, defiantely one of my fav places to watch a performance...

The Foundation Room at the House of Blues is the premier cool spot for any music lover. You need to know someone or be a person with a membership card to get into this hip, tribal decorated private club located on top of the Mandalay Bay. The music is fantastic! Best part is when you are hot from dancing up a storm, you can take a break on their outdoor patio and enjoy the beautiful cityscape of the Las Vegas lights.

Dress like a hip rocker! you can get away with jeans and a collared shirt (for guys), if you don't want to rock the leather pants. Ladies, anything trendy goes.
I admit it. I grew up in the 80s. I like 80s music.
But I wasn't s top 40 kind of girl. I listened to The Cure and Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy a lot more than than Madonna or Culture Club. Therefore most 80s clubs are a letdown, because i don't hear the songs I grew up dancing to.
However, House of Blues' Flashback Friday nights have a good mixture of mainstream 80s mixed with what we'd now call alternative music. Kind of heavy on the rap and R&B, but overall I can't grumble too much.
There was a radio station that said if you showed up before 10 pm, they'd put you on the 'guestlist' for free admission. When I showed up at 9:45 and asked, the bouncers had never heard os such a thing, but gave use 4 free tickets anyhow. So it's worth a shot :)

The Foundation Room is an exclusive club run by the House of Blues for it's VIPs. Not that we were VIPs -- we had a friend who has worked for the HOB for years, and got us in. This is an amazing place - full of 'stolen' culture from other places. Wooden panels from Bali, temple icons and the like. It kind of makes you sad in a way to know people run around the globe buying this stuff to just put in a night club. Anyhow, it is cool to look at if you get there. A-list types supposedly hang out here. Lots of private booth dark places to hide out, great stiff drinks. Great Vegas views from the terrace. Very swank hangout spot indeed!
Dress Code:
Fancy dress - no jeans, sneakers etc. -- dresses recommended for women, shirt w/collar and trousers for men.

The view of the Strip from the patio is to die for, but not everyone can enjoy it. You need to be a member, and membership is expensive!!! Luckily, my friend's father is a member, and he took us for the night.
House of Blues was great. They were playing all kinds of 80's music so we loved it.. Great atmosphere.
