And away we all go for our ATV tour of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. There are several stops along the way for some nature views and sometimes even the Texas Long Horn Cattle will cross the road. It is open range in this area and the cattle are free to roam where they choose. There is also a van that will take anyone on the same tour if you don't like the idea of riding an ATV.

Numerous companies offer tours of the Grand Canyon by air and by shuttle bus. Personally, I'd recommend leaving a ground tour of the Canyon for another trip and taking the time to really experience the place. But seeing the Grand Canyon from the air is an incredible experience. If you have an extra day or simply want to get away from the Strip, an aerial tour of the Grand Canyon is something to consider.

Flyaway Indoor Skydiving:They have a place where you can go sky diving in a wind tunnel! It's ~$40 for a lesson and diving time. It looked really fun but I never actually tried it because the wait was too long. It's located one half block east of the Stardust Hotel & Casino on Convention Center Drive. Operating hours are 10am-7pm Monday - Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.

Take a helicopter tour! This one took us over the Las Vegas strip, then headed out for the Grand Canyon, passing over Lake Mead. We landed in the Canyon, followed by five other helicopters. They served us all a picnic lunch and champagne, and then we took off back for Las Vegas, and another flyover of 'The Strip' before we landed! By the way, that is ME on the left, and our pilot on the right! And yes, we had a FEMALE pilot! Beautiful, savvy, with a sense of humor! Good flight!

If your time is short you can take a day trip to the Grand Canyon by helicopter or plane. If you drive it takes about 5 or 6 hours, and you will get to see the Hoover dam too. The road goes right across it.

The Grand Canyon is one of the natural wonders of the world and there are many different flavours of trip over & through the Grand Canyon that you can pick up from Las Vegas which cater to all budgets. I only had time for a 1 hour flight but you can get some trips that last most of the day and allow you time in the Canyon itself.
