During the week, we found ourselves downtown in need of something for lunch. I had heard that this was one of the better options, so we made our way up to the second floor and were seated. If you have a small party, a good option is to sit along the windows overlooking the pool - it was a lot of fun to people watch.
As far as the food, this is a buffet I probably would pass on in the future. There was your typical Asian, pizza, and carvery stations, and a salad bar in the middle of the buffet area. The food was nothing terrible, but the selection was way too small for someone like myself, who likes to try a lot of different items. The dessert section was also disappointing.
Service was good - our waitress struck up a conversation about what we were doing in town - one of the few times that has happened at a buffet, so that was nice. Other than that, it was an experience that we can look at and say we did it once - probably don't need to do it again.
There is really nothing special about the buffet at Excalibur Hotel & Restaurant. It is just like an ordinary chinese restaurant I used to eat before. But mind you, this is a huge restaurant that you can eat after gaming at their casino.
If you happen to be in Las Vegas, do not expect that when you decide to eat at this restaurant, you will find the best food in town. It is not what I thought it is.
Ok, if i have to eat at a Buffet this is the place! I think i have tried every buffet imaginable in Vegas and The Buffet at the Wynn is my favorite! Its the usual as other buffets in the way they set up the different types of foods: the Asian food at one section, the American food at another, Italian food, Grilled food, etc... but the food is just tastier here. Whenever i am in Vegas i try to make it here at least once for lunch or a late lunch. i came here once for dinner and the price sky rocketed for the same thing you get durning lunch! The decor is nice, classy, clean. the service is superb! The food is delicious!
Favorite Dish: Big selection, they have just about anything and everything you can think of.
Golden Nugget Buffet - extremely good value for money, as is the buffet at the Stratosphere. Prices at Golden Nugget buffet are Breakfast-$5.75, Lunch- $7.50, Dinner-$10.25. The Stratosphere's prices are Breakfast-$5.99, Lunch-$6.99 (particularly good value as it is virtually the same menu as at dinner which is priced at $9.99. The Stratosphere does a Seafood buffet on Fridays & Sundays which is $12.99. (Tax at 7.25% needs to be added to these prices).
