  • VooDoo Cafe: Worth a trip off the strip

Yummy. We did a package at the Rio for my bachelorette party, and i couldn't have been more pleased.
Voodoo cafe is funky, with a bit of sophistication. The food is incredible, and not as expensive as what you would pay for the same thing on the Strip.
The Cafe and Lounge are located on the very top of the Rio, and because it is off of the main drag is has an amazing view of the strip, along with two balconies.

Favorite Dish: Of the entire meal that we had I would have to say that my favorite was the shrimp cocktail. It came out on a huge platter with jumbo shrimp, cocktail sauce, pico de gallo, and avacado mixed around the middle.

VooDoo Cafe: That VooDoo that they do

by lilbunnygirl Updated Apr 4, 2011

Delicious creole cuisine, spicy, creative and elegantly presented. Add this to a sweeping view of the twinkling lights of Vegas, an extensive drinks menu, romantic ambience, and friendly waitstaff, you have a recipie for a memorable evening.

We chose the VooDoo Cafe to celebrate the one year anniversary of the day we met. It was an ideal selection! Our food was divine and the dim blue interior lighting was ideal for gazing soppily across the table at each other. While we waited for our dessert we went for a walk out on the deck to admire the lights (and have a kiss or two) and once the amazing desserts were finished, we'd planned to go upstairs to the VooDoo Lounge (admission is free with your dinner check) but ended up deciding we'd rather go back to the room!

Favorite Dish: I had the stuffed blue crabs, and would definitely recomend them to a seafood lover.

    The desserts are all swoon-worthy!

    Voodoo Cafe: Voodoo Cafe

Voodoo Cafe is a totally unique restaurant, located on the 51st floor of the Rio Hotel and Casino. Featuring amazing views of the Strip and the Las Vegas area, the restaurant serves up Creole specialties in a brightly colored, voodoo-inspired environment. After dinner, you can have your tarot cards read by a psychic near the restaurant entrance, or you can move upstairs to Voodoo Lounge and enjoy the nightlife.

The food here is expensive, but the menu is creative and inspired. If you're looking for something different, this is the place! You'll see items on the menu like "Witch Doctor Sampler," "Hellfire Hot Wings," "Chicken Somestreetinneworleans" and "Bewitching Atlantic Salmon." Everything I ate was absolutely delicious and the service was very gracious.

There is a large balcony off of the restaurant that has incredible views. Be sure to bring your camera and snap a few photos after dinner.

Business casual attire is required (no jeans, hats, etc..).

Favorite Dish: I highly recommend the following menu items:

Jinx Be Gone Mixed Salad (served with a spicy orange vinagrette)

    Mystic Crab and Artichoke Dip

    Black Magic Ahi Tuna

    Stuffed Blue Crabs Gratin

Everyone in our party who had steak said it was just perfect. Also, SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!! The desserts here are amazing. I recommend the Bananas Foster dish, served tableside with a shot of flaming liquor. It's quite a sight!

You can see the entire menu here:
