Cirque du Soleil has several shows running in Vegas. We went to see O, which plays at the Bellagio. It's pretty safe to say that you've never seen a circus act quite like this one: there's a giant pool in the middle of the stage, deep enough for performers to dive into from 50 feet up. The pool magically disappears at times, so that others can dance across the area, only for the water to miraculously reappear. It's an extraordinary show, paying homage to the traditional circus with clowns and trapeze artists, but featuring stunts, costumes and stage effects that are uniquely Cirque du Soleil. It's certainly not cheap, but the non-stop 'wow!' factor ensures that this remains excellent value for money, and a true Vegas-style night out.
I have only seen one Vegas show, and that was Zumanity. If they are all as good as this one, then I will make an effort to see them all. It was just an amazing experience. It takes place right at the NY NY Hotel.
I saw O a few years ago. I believe that if you are in Vegas the first time , then this is the show to see.
O is a play on words for the French word that means water - sorry I don't know the word.
to be understood water plays an important part in the show.
The show is beautiful, the dancers are graceful . The music is beautiful.
You tend to forget that someone is onstage singing and their is a live band in the theater, but when you realize it you are just amazed. O is mesmerizing.
Zumanity is an erotic twist on Cirque du Soleil. I have enjoyed all the cirques' that I saw but this one really stands out. It is hard to capture the essence of the show in words. The dancers are amazing, you will see bodies do things that seem impossible.
The show is captivating .
This is THE Cirque du Soleil show to see. It is the first Cirque show to incorporate a story into the the theatrics. It is the story of twins that have been seperated and must each face their own trials and hardships to meet again. The program says it's an adaptation of an Egyption tale, but my wife (from Thailand and of Chinese heritage) insists that it's a Chinese myth. Regardless, it is breath-taking in its execution. There is minimal dialogue, as the story is told through impressive acrobatics, martial-arts, and eye-popping choreography.
The theater itself was built for this specific purpose and housing technical wonders that any engineer would be proud of. The stage is a floating platform that hangs above a huge pit that spews fire and smoke. All stage entrances and exits consist of falling off into nothingness or floating away above the stage.
The experience is all-encompassing. Once you are inside the theater you are in their world. This involves finding your seats and waiting for the show to start. All ushers are in costume and in character the whole time. They engage the audience in conversation that is rather "eccentric".
This was the show that was recommended to me above all other shows, and it is obvious why. At times, you feel you are watching a movie complete with special effects in front of your eyes. You lose your sense of place and succumb to their world. That was the idea.
The tickets are not cheap, but neither are any of the quaity shows. We paid the extra money ($150 a ticket) to sit in the second row and it was well worth it. You can see every detail at all times. In a word, amazing. Highly recommended.
We saw O at the Bellagio, this was the best show I saw in my entire life... I was so moved by this amazing show!!! A mix of water, fire and circus!!! I can't wait to see it again!
I'd like everybody being able to see this show at least once in their life
Tickets prices: 99$-125$-150$
The Cirque Du Soliel is one of the most awesome shows in Vegas, well worth the money, and a different variation seems to be showing at different hotels.... be careful though, there are off (dark) days in the schedule, as I wanted to go check it out again and the doors were closed on a Tuesday at the Bellagio
I have seen all the CDS shows, so I am already a fan. I booked tickets for KA as soon as they were available...I think 60 or 90 days...maybe more... prior to the show....check the box office. It is a good idea to book early.
All I can say is the four of us were completely satisfied with this show. It was amazing, stunning, and compelling. Different from the other Cirque shows, this had a story to follow. It was great! The music was awesome and the "stunts" were amazing. They make it look easy, but you know it isn't.
Seating. There is really no need to sit in the front sections. In fact, I think there may be an advantage during some points where sitting back wuold be better. I would recommend sitting in the middle sections, higher rows. We sat in 102, row K....and once in a while had to look way up to see the action.
If you have one show to pick.....go see KA! If you have two shows...go see KA! The show runs 100 minutes and you won't want it to end!
We went to see the O Show at the Bellagio. It was quite expensive for two skint travellers from little England at $125 a ticket but it was worth every single penny. It's quite simply the best thing I've ever seen at the theatre ever! It's set above a giant water tank (eau show! get it?) with hydraulic platforms in it so at some point you get acrobats diving into the tank from the ceiling about 100 feet up in the air - the next second dancers will be walking across the surface of the water. You could watch the show five times and still miss stuff it's that good. Even the music is live and you can watch the orchestra through a raised glass platform. Don't blink!!
Last time I visited Vegas I saw both Mystere and "O". Both shows were unbelievable but I liked "O" the best. The combination of water, lights, live music, costumes, imagery and affects, and the talented performers is awe inspiring!
All cirque shows have a very surreal feel to them that is truly unique and fun to watch.
The two Strong Men perfomers in Mystere are my fiance's favorite. When they do their act you can practically hear the entire audience breathe in and gasp in awe of their strength and flexibility!
Worth the money!!!
See Cirque du Soleil's O.
I don't care how much it costs, see it. It is worth every penny.
I wondered why people would say thingd like this to me, but when i asked them to describe the show, they couldn't. They'd start a sentence and stop, try another, then stop...I went in having no idea what I had just spent over $100 to watch.
Wow. Now I understand. There are no words that can describe the sheer breathtaking artistry of this show.
An amazing Cirque du Soleil show involving WATER! It's just simply beyond me how someone can think up the acts they have in this show. And the staging...oh my goodness! A little bit pricy...but well worth it!
We went and saw Cirque du Soleil's Mystère, and it was absolutely wonderful!!!! It would be worth it to go back to Vegas just to see their other 2 shows. I would love to see 'O', but you have to buy those tickets farther ahead and we decided to go to Vegas kind of on the spur of the moment. If you can possibly go to one of their shows - GO!! It's worth the money.
'O' is at the Bellagio
Mystère is at Treasure Island
Zumanity is at New York New York - this one is 18yrs & up only. There are lots of topless females judging by the clips on the Cirque du Soleil web site, so it's definitely for adults.
the tickets are not cheap but the show is great. it has everything to do with water.
the song are a mix of languages like spanish, russian and more. a kind of fantasy language.
i thing was less the clowns trew a bit of water to some visitors and one of the visitors trew some soda drink back but it came in the public. this happened at the seats for expensive tickets.
but further the show was fantastic.
make reservations for the show it can be full.
it is a pity that it is not allowed to take pictures. so i put on an other picture of bellagio.
the picture is of the ceiling from the hall of the bellagio hotel.
OK, I'm a bit biased because I'm coming from the place it was created but their show is a must see. "Mystere" at Treasure Island is one of their first show...very good. "O" is also a must see. A new show is coming out at NewYork Casino which is suppose to be more intimate and spicy...
