The Excalibur Hotel and Casino hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, in the United States. It is owned and operated by MGM Mirage. Excalibur, named for the mythical sword of King Arthur, uses the Arthurian theme in several ways. Its facade is a stylized image of a castle, with a wizard like figure representing Merlin looking out from a high turret. Excalibur is situated at the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection. The intersection is so busy that pedestrians are not allowed to cross at street level. Instead, Excalibur is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos to the north (the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, across Tropicana Avenue) and to the east (the Tropicana Resort & Casino, across the Strip). There is also a free tram that connects Excalibur to its sister MGM Mirage properties to the south, the Luxor and Mandalay Bay hotel and casinos. The three casinos are also connected to each other, so it is possible to walk between the three of them without having to go outside. When you enter the large lobby, you will encounter the sights that you would expect from the renaissance period. Coats of Arms, and 'antique' decor greet you and submerse you in the festivities from the start. If you arrive before check in, you can visit one of the many floors, one of which includes a faire that will awe and delight you with the bright colors, medieval style music, and performers. Some sections of the hotel have entertainers you can watch for free. Entertainment at the Excalibur includes the Tournament of Kings (a dinner with a Knight Joust at $50), Merlin's Magic Motion Machines at $4. The International Buffet at Roundtable Buffet Restaurant was A Ok at $22.

From a distance, Excalibur Hotel is just like a palace -with its different towers and flags. The structure of the building is fascinating. There are many things to do inside the hotel. There are free magician shows at the lobby of the hotel. The children enjoyed the sorcerer's magics. Also, the children went to the carriage at the side of the hotel to take pictures for remembrance. At the second floor of the hotel, there are shops where you can buy t-shirts, magicians paraphernalia, clothes, etc. The hotel also has a very good buffet restaurant!

Excalibur in the rain by jessicadf From the outside, the Excalibur looks a lot like a magic castle, a la Disneyland. We thought, "Yeah, we gotta go inside there..." So we went on in and immediately wanted to turn around and get out. It is supposed to have a King Arthur times feel, but it really just felt tacky tacky tacky. Yuck. As we quickly walked back to the Luxor, Mark said, "I feel really bad for people that have to stay here!!" Leave a Comment

The multi-level Excaliber has plenty to see by TempNomad Take a peek inside the Excalibur...after the Luxor and Mandalay Bay (they are attached by a monorail) it's not so impressive, but there's plenty to see. It's more kiddie oriented, and it's a lot louder than most of the other hotels I saw. Worth a look. Leave a Comment Directions: On the monorail shared with Mandalay Bay

Excalibur Hotel & Casino Gettin' medieval with family-friendly atmosphere. If we were to pretend for a moment that most themed casinos are architecturally accurate, that would mean that crusaders of the Middle Ages built their castles out of...Legos? So looks the Excalibur, a boxy mass of castles and keeps, drawbridges and dungeons. The medieval-themed casino makes up for the goofy architecture with great prices: cheap drinks, cheap restaurants and generally cheap room prices. The bottom-floor has the standard midway fare, along with a string of shops that feature something rarely found on The Strip: handcrafted ceramics and jewelry. In this age of mass-produced trinketry, that's a medieval concept that's more than welcome. Leave a Comment Other Contact: 702-597-7777

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino by Jefie The Excalibur Hotel and Casino was modeled after a French Medieval castle and was named after the legendary sword of King Arthur. When it opened in 1990, it was the biggest hotel in the world, but it has now been supplanted by several hotels, including the Las Vegas MGM Grand. The Excalibur seems to be very popular with families and to be honest, if I were traveling with children, I would much rather stay there than at the slightly outdated Circus Circus hotel. The Excalibur features a pretty big arcade in the basement where kids can waste some money while their parents do the same at the casino upstairs, and there are also some 4D rides featuring characters such as SpongeBog SquarePants. Another very popular family attraction is the "Tournament of Kings", a jousting dinner show (about $60 per person, free for kids under 3). I didn't go but my mother-in-law did and she very much enjoyed both the meal and the atmosphere - the menu features Cornish game hen as the main dish, and you are expected to eat it with your fingers just like people did in ye good olde days!
