The Fremont Street Experience was built a few years ago to lure Las Vegas visitors back to the old Downtown area. It's made of millions of light bulbs covering a few blocks of Fremont Street. Several times a night they'll light up like an aurora, as seen in photo.

This is another fantastic light show. The picture I have shown does not do it justice. It is just too hard to get it on a still shot. The canopy of lights above Freemont Street is amazing. The scenes change and are accompanied by music. It is another must see. My only advice is to take a cab if possible. We rode a city bus. It wasn't the most pleasant ride but was economical

we walked from our hotel riviera to the fremont street experience. it was a little bit far and to hot to walk. later we took a taxi back to the hotel.
it is a pedestrian promenade in the neon center of downtown.
the four blocks are covered with a canopy containing more than 2 million lights. there are seven different light and sound shows.
i liked the live music and the light and sound show like light my fire from the doors.

Go see the Fremont Street Experience, a pedestrian street sheltered by an electric canopy on which a one of a kind sound and light show is performed. The light shows are presented every hour using 2 million lights and 540,000 watts of concert quality sound. On the street you'll also see the iconic Vegas Vic and Vegas Vickie neon signs. Additionally, there are a bunch of commercial outlets and kiosks where you can buy cheap souvenirs. Oh, and don't forget the hotels/casinos that line the street as well!

Don't miss the spectacular FREE show offered at every hour in the evening until 11pm. I simply marvelled at the optical effect of brilliantly coloured images created on the inside surface of the curved roof.
It never failed to bring smiles to eveybody's faces. Go watch it!

Freemont Street has gone through a complete renovation over the past decade. Go at night to check out the light canopy show. Its also a great place for low dollar tables, nickle slots, cheap rooms and even cheaper buffets.

A pedestrian promenade in downtown Las Vegas with free entertainment including a one-of-a-kind light and sound show with more than 2 million lights and 540,000 watts of sound. This show begins at dusk daily and ends at midnight. Also along the street are retail carks, kiosks and entertainers.

This was Las Vegas most traditional casino street, the one we see on pictures and movies from the 50's to the 70's, but after a period of decadence they revived it by building this cool thing full of millions of colored lightbulbs that create a SPECTACULAR bright and colorful show every hour at night. My very favorite Vegas attraction!

This 90 foot high, gigantic metal mesh of lights was completed in 1995 and has transformed the seedy Downtown area of Vegas. It has attracted tourists, but the area has none of the glamour that you find at the newer hotels on the Strip.
This huge canopy is studded with over 2 million colored lightbulbs, which effectively turn into a giant movie screen. There are several different virtual reality shows, none of which have a plot or content - it's purely just an eye-catching spectacle. The performances are free and begin once it gets dark until midnight. I believe they start every half hour, but it may be every hour. This is run jointly by ten downtown casinos who turn off all their external lights while it's happening. You'll also see the well known neon cowboy and Lady Luck here on Freemont Street.

I would recommend a visit to the Freemont Street Experience, a light show above the street which has been pedestrianized.
This is something I've seen only in Las Vegas, we watched a mowtown show and I now I'm home, whenever I hear one the songs played in the show I can close my eyes and be back there.
