a few players club cards by thecatsmeow If you like to gamble at all be sure and sign up for the Players Club card at the casino you are interested in gaming. If you do you could earn freebies while you are gaming. Most clubs have you give them your I.D and then they print you a card that you present to the dealers if you are playing a table game such as blackjack or craps. Or if you enjoy the slots or Video Poker you insert it into the machine. The casino will track your play and reward you for your patronage. I have not paid for a room in Vegas since 2000. We have also had some great meals and seen some fantastic shows all for free. OK this does not make up for losing if you do but if you cant afford to lose maybe you should not be gaming :) Or maybe you should gamble less. Another thing is watch for promotions or ask when you sign up at the players club. Sometimes you get freebies just for signing up. Dinners, free slot play, T-Shirts etc.. Have fun and play smart! Outside Flamingo's by MarvintheMartian A few of the Casinos offer free lessons on playing roulette and some of the card games. If you're new to the idea of these games and you want to know more then ask around. I went to the Flamingo's sessions - they were open to the public, you just turn up and wait around the tables. Most of these sessions run in the morning when it's quieter. At the end of the day I still didn't gamble on the tables, however it was fun finding out how it works and how the etiquette works. Mum trying to figure out the slot machines by SabrinaSummerville They say that most people go to Vegas for the Casinos, though from my visit there I'm more convinced that it's for the drinking and clubbing and all night partying! I'm sure, however, that there are others like me - people that don't know the first thing about gambling. The closest I've come to it is putting a tenner on a horse in the Grand National, or pennies in the slot machines in Tramore. Nevertheless I was determined to try my hand at something....anything, just to say I gambled in Las Vegas. Night one, there we are, ambling almost carelessly into the casino at Mandalay Bay determined to, eh, spend a penny...or two...on the slot machines. Be warned, it's nothing like it is at home. You need to become a "member" of your casino and they give you a little card. Membership is free. When you play the slot machines you build up your credits (if you get any) on your card and cash them in later. We had to ask several people to tell us how to go about it. There are all the things you'd expect - I saw a man lose a fortune on roulette, having first won a fortune! It's not glamorous like I expected it to be. I got all glammed up the first night and felt a bit out of it as most people were casual - you know how glammy they look at the casinos on tv? It was fun. In the end I didn't gamble, but there were promises of great prizes - even cars and Harley Davidsons. Sexily dressed hostesses go around the casinos filling you with free drink all night. I thought they were all very glum looking - then I realised that the trick was to give them a nice tip; that brought a smile to many faces. They'll fill you with drink even if you just LOOK as though you're gambling. I felt a bit sorry for them as none of them looked really happy. by Avryle HELLO. You're in Vegas. There's something not quite right if you go without even dumping a couple quarters into a slot machine or throw five bucks on a table. Leave a Comment Directions: Hotel casinos, gas stations, Dennys...you can find some form of gambling just about anywhere you go.

Throwing away hard earned $$ by jessicadf I have NO idea why it's fun to do this, but it is... pump money in to some slot machines and enjoy the noises, spinning images and thrill of winning and, usually, losing your money. Just make sure to gamble no more than you can afford to lose. Leave a Comment

The hit- how to turn $1.25 into $1000 by HotSpotJ The blood that flows through this city is that of the American dollar... the currency spent on numerous trips to the slot machines, the craps and blackjack tables, the roulette wheels, and those high limit poker tables. My personal vice is that of the sports book. Whatever your gambling poison in this town just remember to keep in fun, it is not meant for financial gain, and certainly, if you can't afford to gamble the money, don't. Stay within your means, don't go max bet everytime if you can't afford it, and only sit at tables with minimums you can afford. Also, know the rules of games before you put chips down at them, and, the most importnat rule- quit when you're ahead. Don't press your luck too far. This town has far too many great shows, clubs, and restaurants to waste all of your time and money at a table. Leave a Comment

Well, I've never taken the time to see Hoover Dam or anything else off the Strip, so I can't tell you much about that...but I can tell about what Vegas is known for...GAMBLING!! If you're not a big gambler, just throw a few dollars into a slot machine, you never know...it may be you who gets the jackpot (yeah, right!!). If you do come to Vegas and want to spend some time gambling, try going during the week (Sun-Thurs) it's a lot less crowded and table limits are ususally lower. Leave a Comment
