Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton has closed in Sept of 2008:( Yet, it is was to be relocate at the Neonopolis and reopen. Yet, that has fallen through. Sadly it was auctioned off in Aug 2010. If I find anything more about it, I will keep this page updated.
It was fun. I do not like motions rides, but this was fun to go on with the hubby. At least I tried it. I have always been a big fan of all Star Trek movies and shows. Lots of wonderful exhibits on display and you have to try the bar and check out the gift shop. Watch out for the Feringi, he is the biggest flirt and the Klingon, well lets say he is not shy either…especially with the burping…..LOL!
Hours of operation: Open daily from 11:30 - 8:30 p.m. Weekend closing times may vary. The retail shop is open until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
BORG Invasion 4D and Kingon Encounter: The first ride is at noon daily. The last ride is at 8:30 p.m.
Cost: Please either check the website of call the attraction for current cost
Reservations: Reservations can be made for Quark's Bar and Restaurant by calling (702) 697-8752.
Age/Height/Weight restrictions: You must be 42 inches tall to ride. Children less than 42 inches are admitted into the museum for free. Those with children under the age of 21 should line up at the entrance outside of the casino.

Even if you are not a hardened Trekkie...or Star Trek fan to the unknowing...you will really enjoy this thrilling visit to the Star Trek Museum and Ride.
In the Hilton Hotel a whole section has been dedicated to this experience with the casino area sitting under laser beams darting out across the slots, and the slots themselves are very furturistic with just a wave of the hand the wheels spin. No pressing buttons or pulling levers! Even the restrooms are all automated....very interesting!
Theres Quarks Bar a great bar/cafe where you can order the most delicious, out of this world cocktails you´ve ever seen, and tasty food from the planets.
The Experience itself is brilliant. We go every year and sometimes 2 or 3 times in one day. As you enter the Star Trek dressed staff stamp your hand with an invisible stamp so you can go in again once its finished and then the walkway takes you round the museum. Its very interesting with actual clothes and instruments used in the original filming from day one up to present day ST. The comes the scary bit. Depending whether youve chosen the Borgs or the Klingons, be prepared for a scary ride!
Once you are brought back down to Earth theres a great store selling lots of memorabilia and some very strange characters wandering around. Keep your eyes open!

I am in no way a Star Trek expert or really a fan but my brother is and he really enjoyed going to the Star Trek exhibit at the hilton. It is really overpriced taking advantage of Star Trek fans but we really enjoyed "Quarks," the Star Trek restaurant/bar.

At the Hilton. Including Borg Invasion 4D and Klingon Encounter. What's 4D? Apparently people dressed up as star trek characters and involving the audience in the simulator ride (sounds more like a Star Trek convention to me). Sounded peculiar - we went by to take a look but didn't go. $30 for both rides but apparently the 2-for-1 outlets offer cheaper tickets.
There is also "Quark's Bar and Restaurant" where you can get "hamborgers" and "talaxian turkey wraps", as well as a full range of appropriately named bar items, from McCoys martinis to phaser shots.

At this point in writing my Las Vegas page I have to admit that I am a geek. I've watched every Star Trek episode there is, many of them multiple times (I've probably been one of the five people who watched Voyager from beginning to end). So who better than me to enjoy this attraction? The Star Trek Experience at Hilton hotel... Sounded promising. And indeed it was lots of fun (and I have to confess to going there twice, two years apart, because I've read about a new show). Anyway. At first this is a "museum" where you'll find a very serious Star Trek time line and a few displays with costumes and all sorts of devices used in the series. But the fun is about to begin. They have two interactive shows, with real actors playing the part of the crew. In "The Klingon Encounter" you're beamed aboard Enterprise and have to escape the mighty Klingon warriors which involves a bumpy shuttle ride. In the new show "Borg Invasion 4D" you'll be in danger to be assimilated by the Borg. The cost of the attraction is a little high in my opinion but this is Vegas after all where few things come cheap. After exiting both attraction you'll end up in the gift shop, where they try to take advantage of you and sell you more stuff you don't need. There are actors dressed as different species walking around and you can take pictures with them if you wish. The Star Trek theme area also includes a "Deep Space Nine" promenade featuring Quark's Bar and Restaurant (you don't need to buy a ticket to wander off here).

Okay, I am a scifi fiend! I love all things set in furturistic space continuums :) So, everytime I go to Vegas, I drop in to ride the Star Trek Experience.
The cost is a little steep, but after entering, the line takes you past several wonderful displays..... To the left is a space travel timeline, that combines our reality with that of Star Trek. To the right is a series of display cases filled with costumes, props, and all sorts of 'trekker' stuff from the series (all of them) and the movies.
This is a VR ride that combines live actors, the bridge of the Enterprise D, and the ride itself . Which of course, being sworn to secrecy I can't divulge :)
In addition to this paid activity, there are several Star Trek gift shops, and Quark's bar and grille - I love wandering about this place!

Star Trek the Experience was actually pretty good. It wasn't just a ride, though they try to do more to make it overall better experience. That said, I would say that the ride is for kids and/or adults who grew up on Star Trek.

Disclaimer - this event is only for "science geeks" like myself! We went to a Star Trek convention over at the Hilton. It's held every year though the Original Star Trek actors and actresses are getting up in years, and so perhaps down the road the event won't be as big. In one room there is trade show where one can by any sort of memorabilia. In the main theatre room, the actors get up on stage and field questions from the audience and tell old stories about the filming of the shows. Being a fan of the older series, it was fun just to do just once.

Star Trek: The Experience
What an experience. If you are a Trekkie (or even a wannabe) you have to do this ride.
You wander through all kinds of Star Trek TV/ movie memorabilia on your way to the 16 or so minute experience. Part of it is a space flight simulation ride. Very fun. Admission was $24.95 when we went but that was in 2002.

We'd been looking forward to this since we got into Las Vegas and I was expecting something really impressive for the money...
It was good, but overpriced and way over commercialised to be a truly enjoyable experience, as it felt that the operators were cynically trying to cash in on Trekkies and to take advantage of them.
For your money (about $25), which is more than half the cost of a ticket to Universal Studios or Disney Land, you get an ironically out of date 'History of the Future' Museum/Exhibit that doesn't even record most of the Voyager series. The Exhibits themselves are so so - the Borg where fantastic, but many of the other exhibits looked as though the costumes and equipment had been put together by rummaging through a 70's jumble sale and raiding mum's empty washing up liquid bottles.
Before you reach the highlight of the 'Experience' you pose for a picture and then enter the Starfleet Gallery room where you get beamed aboard an exact replica of the Enterprise Bridge for a briefing as one of you is the ancestor of James T. Kirk (shock horror!) and the Klingons have travelled back in time to kill you all!!!
After this you are taken by turbolift to a shuttle to escape the evil Klingons - but it's not as easy as that as the Klingons are hot on your tail!
After the ride you are ejected straight into the overpriced merchandising area where you can purchase your picture, which is a crude hatchet job of attaching your head to a crew pose of the characters of your favourite show for - US$20!!! WHAT AN INSULT!!!
Also in this area is a shop selling limited edition stuff for way out prices like US$1000. After that I needed a drink and went to Quarks Bar, one of the best parts of the ‘experience’, but also open to the public so you could come here for free. As well as all the great drinks on offer, there are actors dressed up as Klingons and Ferengi walking around and I got a free pic with a couple of them.
It is worth going if only to visit Quarks, but don’t go with expectations too high…
