Mandalay Bay is fantastically elegant and exotic. It's truly like another country...or island. It's attached to the Four Seasons and has a lovely pool area - not open to the public. The chapel is gorgeous and not too, too expensive.
The trees, details in decoration, and atmosphere made Mandalay Bay one of my favorite hotel stops!
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to check this hotel out. Even though it was located next to my hotel, I ventured north on the strip instead of down to this one. I did take the walkway to it one night, but didn't explore much. So I will provide a picture and you can explore on your own!! Hows that? I do know an above ground tram links this hotel to the Luxor and Excalibur.
We saw the Tragically Hip (a great Canadian band) at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. This intimate venue offered an amazing chance to see this fabulous band up close. Looking at future listings at this club, there are numerous acts I would love the chance to see.
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay
Not your typical aquarium, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is a total sensory experience designed to transport visitors to an undersea ocean of fantastic sights, sounds and encounters. Featuring dangerous and unusual aquatic animals and fish from the world's tropical waters, Shark Reef takes visitors on a journey through an ancient temple that has been slowly claimed by the sea and a sunken galleon ship where sharks lurk in the water.
Shark Reef is an aquarium that has a large assortment of shark at Mandalay Bay. The coral in the tanks is vibrant in color. There are several smaller varieties of fish and even a couple alligators in a separate tank. The tour is self guided so that you can take your time.
We had a great time. It was a nice break from all the bright lights, and gambling noise. I feel that it was worth the price.
The Shark Reef aquarium at Mandalay Bay. This is a walk through tunnel for even better viewing of the fish.
Varities of fish swim all around you as you sit or stand to watch.
While Mandalay Bay may be by the desert, they have a great aquarium for all ages. They use listening devices to describe the different exhibits. The sharks are great!
Contrary to the name, there are many more fascinating animals than just sharks here(The sharks are my favorite though). There are turtles, venomous fish and many reptiles.
Mandalay Bay. Defintely spectacular inside, its even got a wave pool (they call it a beach!). It doesn't look like much (relatively) from th outside though.
