When you enter the Sahara Las Vegas, you will find yourself in an entirely different world than that of the Strip. Rich and elegant Moroccan decor, coupled with a feel of the Arabian desert, lets you get into the mood of this hotel and Casino easily. If you arrive before check-in, there are a variety of different activities that you can do. You can go have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the hotel, or ride Speed: The Ride at 21.95 all day. You could also visit the Sahara Casino for a while, NASCAR Café or one of the many lounges nearby. Sahara hotel is located on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. The Moroccan-themed hotel has 1,720 rooms and a casino covering more than 85,000 square feet (7,896 m˛), and sits on 55 acres (174,000 m˛) including the empty adjoining land. The hotel is the northernmost stop for the Las Vegas Monorail. The Sahara is the last remaining "Rat Pack" hotel, and is the northernmost resort on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. The porte-cochere entrance, topped by an onion-dome minaret, is designed to set the Moroccan theme for arriving guests. The 1960 version of Ocean's Eleven was filmed here. Posing with illusionist Lance Burton by ZanieOR My son and I went to see illusionist Lance Burton at Monte Carlo. His is truly a wonderful act, not only full of great illusions and "magic" moments, but also with his warm personality. During one part of his act Burton picked kids in the audience to come up on stage with him to help with some tricks. My son was disappointed we were in the middle seating section, because somehow though the kids on stage were six or seven and he was 14 he was convinced that if he'd been sitting in front Lance would have picked "him". We went back after Lance's late show and he posed for a photo with us with our camera and signed the program for Matt. Leave a Comment

Mirage Volcano by jag17 As you are srolling the strip at night, try and catch the Mirage Volcano. The 3 acre watery display in the front of the hotel, turns into a fiery, steamy volcano eruption by night. Water and flames shoot 54' into the air as the volcano erupts, and 119,000 gallons of water per minute flows in and around the hotel grounds. An incredible thing to see! by Hosell I didn't had the chance to see this hotel by inside during my days in Las Vegas, just I saw it from outside and took a few pictures of it.The only thing that I can say about this hotel it is that it has 1,500 rooms and that there are no family-oriented attractions here,as many of others hotels along the strip have.. The Imperial Palace hotel has a free antique auto display that will prove very enjoyable for car lovers. With cars like Bentley's, Pierce Arrows and even Hitler's controversial vehicle. When you've had enough of the heat or the casino noise, take a look at the cars. Directions: Across from Caesar's Palace on the strip.

There are shows for just about every taste in Vegas from nude revues to the latest hot entertainer to old shows for people like me. I would not describe our taste as conservative but we are not really ‘hip’ to the current music and entertainment scene. However we found a perfect match in the Gold Coast Hotel’s ‘Forever Plaid,’ a musical set in the 60’s which is the story of 4 nerdy young men (Francis, Sparky, Jinx and Smudge) who have formed a singing group, are killed in a car crash on their way to their first professional gig, but get a chance to come back to life to perform their dream concert. I highly recommend this show, but if it is not to your taste, you can surely find something that is in Vegas. The Gold Coast is a huge and nice hotel on Flamingo Road about a mile west of the strip. It also has over 2000 slots and lots of other games. Tickets for just the evening show are about $40 but they have package deals offered on their web site for dinner and show, room and show, etc. Leave a Comment

Oh my goodness! This was sooo funny. You must, must must see this show. It's free at Harrah's, as long as you buy a $5 drink. Matt king is a comedian and magician and is hysterical. I laughed so hard that I cried. I also got pulle dup on stage for one of the routines. Great show and a wonderful man. See this! Leave a Comment Directions: Harrah's hotel and casino

Bally's Las Vegas The old MGM site, re-done and opened as Bally's. This hotel has been transformed from the original MGM to a fabulous hotel and casino befitting the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Tourists like this hotel because of its central location on one of the hottest corners of the Strip, and you don't have to pay a fortune to get a nice room or a great meal. It is also home to one of the longest running and best stage shows in town, 'Jubilee.' The crowd is mainly tourists who like the casual atmosphere and affordable prices.
