This is just east of the Fremont Experience. This is part of the Neon Musuem, but this part is Free to public. Best times of course is at night, but be careful. It is outside of the safety of the Fremont Experience. If you want to see some of the most historical signs, you have to go to the boneyard and there it is not free.

The neon lights are simple but beautiful. When in Las Vegas, you should start walking at night and just look at the neon lights. Or better still, take the bus and sit at the top! I tried that three times on different years. I also tried on top of our car when the traffic sat still for about two hours during the All American Basketball Games. That was a couple of years ago. Then, on another occasion, I took a double-decker bus.
Walking is better to see the neon lights but it will take you about four hours to walk from one end to another end. Make sure to have comfortable walking shoes. Walking is very nice to just check the different hotels. The time passes fast because you get busy just checking things out!

Whilst Las Vegas has much to do in daylight it really does come into its own at night. This was the view from the cross bridge between the NY NY and MGM looking north up the strip.
We always laugh at how even the Maccas signs are neon in Vegas.

Vegas would not be Vegas if it were not for all the glamour and glitz! I did notice that many of the newer hotels and casinos are trying to take a more subdue approach to their lighting and I think it is due to the high cost of having to maintain so many lights and the sheer cost it takes to keep them lighted. Yet, there are some of the old glamour casino’s still out there. The old town area is a great place to see some of the old marquees. Yet, it is very fun to walk around to see the sights and sounds of the Vegas Strip. Nothing like a warm summer night to be able to stroll, sip a drink or two, and take it all in. Try to take some time and enjoy

Like me, if you're not much of a gambler, then hit the Strip at night. It's also the best time to be out and about because it's too hot to be walking around in the day. Once the sun goes down, the atmosphere comes 'alive' with hoardes of people out on a stroll.
I've loaded my hotel pictures under 'Things to Do', rather than under 'Hotels & Accommodation'. For me, each and every hotel on the Strip is an "attraction" in its own right and should be visited. I was amazed by the individual design, construction and unique theme for each hotel. I've never seen anything like it!

The Las Vegas Strip is universally considered the neon capital of the world. Despite a recent turn to more subdued signage, the classic signs of the Strip remain unique cultural icons. View the Dazzling Neon Signs of Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand, New York-New York, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Aladdin, Paris Eiffel Tower, Caesar's Palace, Flamingo Hilton, Mirage, Treasure Island, Venetian, and Stratosphere Tower rising 1,149 feet into the air and a Lot MORE! plus you can view the Fremont Experience Neon Lights Show in Fremont Street at Las Vegas City Limits (most strip neon lights and hotel are located outside city limits in Paradise, Nevada)

I grow up in my little village in Portugal watching on the TV movies with this neon Cowboy sign. The Cowboy moves his left forearm up and down.
Finally, in August 1999 (I was 30 then) I got the chance myself to take a picture of this Las Vegas' Cowboy sign.
Unfortunately due to my poor camera at the time, the picture didn't come out very good. :)

Club Tryst at the Wynn hotel has to be the hottest club in Vegas. I believe it was on an episode of CSI. Very high class but not too high class for everyone to enjoy. The music rocks. The drinks aren't watered down. There is a gorgeous waterfall on the back patio and the place gets packed after midnight. Great place to get to know someone new or take someone if you want to impress!

Driving or walking, you can see the famous flashing and bright neon lights that will draw visitors and potential money spenders as each casinos try to outdo each other for attention.
The Cowboy is a classic. These lights are part of Las Vegas landmarks and character. Without those them, they are just buildings with lots of slot machines and card tables.
Whether you are going to gamble or not, enjoy the lights.
