    Treasure Island and Mirage

The Treasure Island Hotel and Casino is located on the Las Vegas Strip. The theme of this hotel is about pirates, ships, the sea, and treasures. There's a great show outside the entrance of this casino at night. Come early to reserve a spot as it can get pretty crowded with little space outside the casino. The show is great for kids.

    Treasure Island Pirate Ship Battle

by grannygilda Written Aug 16, 2003

Another must see is the "battle" at treasure island. It is best seen at night. Get there early if you want a good spot. We got there avout 40 minutes early and stood right in front. It was great. They "sink" a ship and we were lucky enough to be standing on the side that had the sinking ship. Very realistic. This is a great city!!!!!

    Ahoy, Maytee, thar' she blows!

Pirates unloading their pillaged booty are approached from the east by the British Navy in search of the stolen goods! A dynamic battle ensues with cannons, swords and pirates swinging on ropes! The show is free, and happens nightly every 45 minutes. If you go into the bar at the casino about 15 minutes prior to the battle, you can get some great photos from the outdoor seating at the bar!

    ***THIS ATTRACTION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED***

The show is being "revamped" into a more adult themed show called The Sirens Of T.I. (T.I. is going to be the new name for the Treasure Island Casino, and they have already removed the pirate skull from their sign as well!)

This is an amazing theatrical experience

Every 90 minutes each evening, cannon and musket fire are exchanged in a dramatic pyrotechnic battle between the pirate ship Hispaniola and the British frigate H.M.S. Britannia in the middle of Buccaneer Bay.

Sounds of a bustling pirate village fill the air. Waves crash against the pier, seagulls chatter and pirates call to one another as they unload the booty from their ship, the Hispañiola.

Suddenly, the HMS Britannia steals around the corner at Skull Point, and British naval officers challenge the pirates to surrender their valuables and their vessel. The pirates refuse and proudly stand guard to defend their ship.

Thus begins a swashbuckling battle of epic proportion. Cannons roar, smoke billows, munitions explode and mainmasts topple. Until, with one mighty broadside at the waterline, the victors once-majestic British frigate sink slowly into Buccaneer Bay. After all, this is Las Vegas...the pirates always win.

Check out the pirate ship battle at Treasure Island for a good laugh (I can't believe the ending to the battle - it can't be true). for one of the best views get on the balcony of the restuarant (you will need to get there early as large queues forom for this)

    Treasure Island

You enter this hotel through a coastal village and that's the beginning of the adventure! The big draw at this hotel is the nightly battle fought on the lagoon in front of the hotel! My experience has been GET HERE EARLY!!!! I arrived over 30 minutes before show time and there weren't very many good standing spots left. Also be warned that when the show is over you will be leaving with a few thousand other people. I waited in my spot for over 30 minutes after the show and the sidewalks were still very crowded.

Watch the free show at Treasure Island, they do some skits and stunts for about 5minutes to entertain the crowds walking the strip. Pirates are jumping off a ship into the pool, it's amusing if you've never seen it before. The Bellagio has a water show with fountains and music, the mirage has a fire and water demo, etc, etc...

The Treasure Island Casino offers a Buccaner Bay Sea Battle directly outside the Casino. This free show features a British frigate that fights with a pirate ship in a full scale pyrotechnic battle that results in masts snapping and plunging into the sea and buildings exploding into flames.

Shows run every 90 minutes Sun - Thurs from 4 - 10 pm and Fri & Sat until 11:30 pm.

Be sure to get there early enough to get a good spot, expecially if you have young children with you.
