by yeah_baby Ah my favorite :-) felt like Venice for a minute there, with the gondolier singing his head off. There are two gondola rides, one indoors and one outdoors(somehow the ones outside clashes with the Las Vegas Boulevard traffic and noise)-altho excellent for picture taking in nice sunlight. $12.50 for 8 minutes, they only take cash and have to line up-long-like the Vegas buffets. Well atleast it's cheaper than the real thing and if you get one of their photographers to take your picture(they will ask you, can't miss them) then you can take it home to Omaha or Nebraska and can't tell the difference between real Venice and Vegas Venice. One of the poorer models by boltonian Always a fun thing to see is the Madam Tussaud waxworks. You can get cheap entry if you visit the various ticket outlets on the strip. Some of the works are excellent, and you can interact with them and get your photo taken. Others are poor quality and slightly damaged. One or two maybe unknown to non US citizens. The best bit is the horror section. The waxworks of Freddy Kruger etc are scary, well they are when they turn out to be actors and no waxworks. My girlfriend screamed like hell. Well worth a visit, oh and try the smoothies they sell in the cafe. Fantastic Leave a Comment

Beautiful by pamstravels As you enter the Venecian Hotel and Casino don't forget to look up at the ceiling. The art reproductions on the ceiling are breathtaking. As I have never been to Venice or Rome, I do not know if they are "authentic" reproductions of original art. Maybe another VTer will let me know. I had to take this picture lying on the floor of the 1st floor at the Venecian. As you enter the doors from St. Marks square to the second floor of the hotel, you can see this work of art in the very center of the ceiling. If you look closely you can see the sprinkler system. BEWARE! Remember to look down every once in a while or you could run into someone, or even worse, fall down the stairs. I speak from experience. Leave a Comment

Gondola ride at Venetian by HotRodEtte I found the Venetian to be the most attractive hotel on the strip, with the best views and photo ops. Although it's also the most popular with couples, my friend and I trolled the grand canal shops and toured the grounds. We were able to see about 7 weddings (post-ceremony) and families taking advantage of the gondola rides. by kala6487 I was totally amazed at the detail of this place and the fact that no expense was spared. From the painted ceilings to the canals, visit this casino/hotel just to walk around and view the shops. I did not take the Gondola ride, but I heard it was expensive and not worth it. Other than that there was a good selection of shops and restaurants. The only thing that was annoying was the determined workers there who insist visitors buying show tickets. If you go early in the day like I did, they will accost your every move. Leave a Comment

Take a Gondola ride by Russ60 If you are that way inclined you can take a Gondola ride through the canals in the Venetian whilst the guy on the back serenades you, personally I thought it was a bit naff. Leave a Comment
