Combined Suggestions, Las Vegas
Either flying into Las Vegas or by your own transport. The ride towards Las Vegas is impressive as it´s a huge town just in the middle of a desert with several adds on the side of the road.
Walk your way through Las Vegas. There´s no better way to see it all or to see what you wouldn´t if you´d take a bus or car.
Take a plane, man! Driving here sucks. Plain and simple.
Watch for web specials, they're offered quite often, especially on regional or 'budget' airlines such as Southwest, Alaska or AmericaWest.
If you really want to go unhindered, rent a car, WITH Air Conditioning! Traffic is relatively good except for rush hours, of course. I was amazed at how quickly you can drive around the greater Vegas area at most times of day.
If you're fine with being tied down to specific locations (The Strip, Downtown, etc) shuttles might work for ya.
Cabs can be spendy, and if you're there for much time will add up. But if it's a short trip, they'll get ya where you need to go and FAST.
We took the airplane. I don't think I would want to drive.
Public transpertation is not reliable, the bus is very unpredictable. We found the trolly to be the best way to travel on the strip. You can take a cab but it is expensive. If you like to walk, Everything is within walking distance.
Only the fastest way.....airplane....real cheap fares on American or America West
On the strip you would walk, the view of the casinos is breathtaking as you stroll up and down the strip. For those who plan on travelling just outside the strip, there is either car or bus.
