If you just want to see Las Vegas you do not need a car. you can catch a taxi at every hotel/casino. Also, there is a trolley that travels the strip stopping at some of the hotels, and a series of trams that go between specific hotels.

We booked a large limo for our airport pick up to the hotel... Limousine are cheap in Vegas, and the wait for a taxi can take forever....

If there is a few of you, well say 6+ always ask how much a limo will cost to your destination as oppsed to two taxis, as we found it usually cost pennies difference, plus a lot more comfortable!

A: West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place.
