    Adult advertising, this is everywhere.

Once it gets dark outcomes all the advertising which is very painful while walking along the strip, and don't like people dispose of this information correctly either, it is all over the place.

    Beware of the flicking

At night in Las Vegas, all the "adult flyer guys" come out. For the most part I didn't observe anything that was inherently dangerous just really really annoying. Basically what happens it these people attempt to pass out small cards and flyers to people walking the strip. they tend to position themselves in the high traffic areas and at crosswalk where they know you'll have to stop. As you walk by they will hold the cards out in front of you and flick the cards trying to attract your attention. If you talk to these people they are likely to follow you so te best thing to do is not take a card and simply ignore them or walk by.

When walking up or down the strip you will no doubt run in to these people. They are everywhere. They have flyers of adult entertainment or shows They will put these things directly in front of your face. Most of these people are Hispanic, they hang on every corner. Don't grab any of them, just keep walking and enjoy the sites. I don't think they can touch you, but they get pretty close.

People handing out porno on the streets

    by kimod74 Written Jan 15, 2006

As you mind your own business walking down the road men will hand you brochures advertising "escorts", "porno", etc. They just shove them in your hand, don't even ask. This is sin city after all, but just be aware they do it if you are walking with your spouse or if you are walking with children.

    The Strip

When walking up or down the strip you will be pestered by people trying to hand you details of adult & strip clubs. They don't seem to take into account the fact that you might be a family with kids.

The best thing to do is to ignore them or If you pick up any leaflets that you come across in your travels and hand these to them first it seems to confuse them.

One really annoying thing about Vegas is the fact that you will see 15 people standing on the side of the street giving away whole catalogs and baseball-size cards advertising nude women and their services. They will reach out and try to get you to take 1, but you just walk by them and do not pay any attention to them. The only other peroblem with this, is that the city would look much cleaner, but people that do take those cards and catalogs, throw them away on the street and all over the place.

    View down the Strip

As you walk up and down The Strip at dusk or during the evening you see groups of people standing on the sidewalk slappng packs of cards against their hands.

However these cards don't have anything to do with Poker or Pontoon but rather are advertising various adult services, escorts etc..

To avoid being given one of the cards just walk straight past and don't show any signs of interest - quite hard when you first hear the 'slap, slap. slapping' noise and wonder what it is. They generally seem to be offered just to men and if you are walking past as a couple or in a family group they may not bother to offer you one. Although if a man in your group falls behind or goes ahead this may not be the case!

Mind you on the crowded sidewalks of Las Vegas there's also the matter of simply trying to avoid and not bump into the people giving out the cards themsleves never mind just avoiding the cards!

It is worth being aware of this practice in order to avoid any upset or offence that receiving a card may cause.

    Pains in the ****

Some people might not be bothered but besides the magazine stands with magazines featuring sex for sale, it was the 'people' along the pavement that really got on my nerves. My husband who had already visited Las Vegas a couple of months before had told me of them, but seeing them for myself was a different matter.
These 'people' stand in lines, whole groups of them with cards featuring the 'people' who were plying their trade. But not satisfied with just standing there they literally jump in front of you and flash the cards in front of your face. In some cases you cant even get passed them but come to an abrupt stop. This totally p****d me off. So much so that it completely got on my nerves, I simply couldnt ignore them like most people were doing, but physically pushed one out of my way and told them they were nothing more than pimps. Dont think they liked it but then neither did I.

I've come to find most of the advertisers in front of the Imperial Palace handing out nude photos of the hookers in Vegas. Shield the virgin eyes if you happen to travel with your children. Be careful who you talk to and who you come into contact with while out and about. Keep your wallet safe as well as your drinks.

Las Vegas is a great place for couples and singles alike. But be warned, if you get offended by pornography, prostitution, etc. then stay away from Vegas,. Also, this isin't the best place for children either. Not only because of the adult theme, but also because they won't find much to do, concidering the majority of the activities are 18 or 21+. Also, don't venture off the strip, lots of gang activity there.

    Porn advertisement everywhere

    Porn advertisement everywhere

If there's one thing I think Vegas needs to clean up, it's got to be the porn advertisement. Walk along Las Vegas Blvd (the Strip) and you inevitably will encounter many "porn sales" distributing adult advertisement or business cards. It makes the city distasteful. I mean, who needs adult advertisement? If I need adult service, all I have to do is hanging around the bar in any casino after midnight to get hooked. Besides, when I see so many people distributing porn advertisement for a living (mostly Mexican immigrants who speak little or no English) I worry about the city's state of economy.

Everywhere you walk on the strip there will be people trying to hand you adult advertising services/pornography. Or you will see the flyers on the floor when you walk the strip. Just ignore those people eventhough they may be waiving them in your face.

Despite marketing itself as a family destination, the sex traffic is quite out in the open in Vegas. It includes people every 10-20 feet handing out cards for escort services. You might have some trouble explaining some of it if you have kids

Prepare your children for the smut that will be lying on the streets, set up in newspaper stands, and even passed out.

There are many locals passing out pictures and phone numbers of women if you want to have a good time. This stuff is all over the street and I could not believe how bad it was. On every corner there were people handing out newspapers with information about women and little cards.

As everyone on this site who goes to Vegas mentions, at night these people stand around the streets and try to hand our Adult /Porn advertizing

These people are just a nuisence and I don't see why the City council can't put a stop to it. Its a pity that visitors have to run the gauntlet of these people and there are quite a few of them.

A fool and his money are easily parted as the saying goes and as long as there are a steady supply of fools then the porn slappers will continue to line the strip hawking badly printed and poorly spelt cards to the public. If you honestly believe that the girl featured on the card is going to turn up at your hotel room and shower you in all kinds of unimaginable sexual favours for $35 to $40 dollars then frankly you deserve to be taken.
As for the rest of us smile to yourself share a joke with your wife as you pass by them and look at it this way it's putting food on someones table somewhere who cleans up all those little cards from the sidewalk the majority of card takers discard a couple of blocks further down.
Those who whine about their children being exposed to borderline pornography etc while walking the strip. Look you brought your kids here Vegas is not and never will be Disney it's whole purpose is to part foolish adults who believe they can beat the house from their money as quickly as possible. It doesn't cater for kids, they aren't even allowed to sit in the gaming areas with you quietly sipping a soda whilst watching you happily pump your hard earned vacation fund into the machines. So why bring them?
