Laughlin Things to Do

  • Desert Dune Buggy Tour

Bob and I were totally pumped to catch some air hitting the sand rails in a dune buggy with Laughlin Adventure Tours . I think we both envisioned a hair-raising race across the desert as we shouted into the wind, loud enough for those behind to hear, "Oh yeah, eat dust baby!" It wasn't quite as imagined but it was fun and probably a whole lot...

There is a free museum at the Riverside casino which showcases amazing cars! There are 2 showrooms - one along Casino Drive and the other in the South Tower ---- we went to the South Tower one I think. These automobolies are actually from the amazing collection of Don Laughlin himself for whom the city is named....the amazing thin of course is that...

  • Walk the River walk and ride Water Taxis

From Lake Mohave runs this river which courses through the city of Laughlin. If you go out of your hotel, you will most likely find a way to a very nice riverwalk where you can move from casino to casino either by walking...or even by water taxis which only cost about $4 (as of 2009) one-way from the Riverside Casino. What struck me most was how...

We made a point to take a river cruise in one of these wonderful nostalgic riverboats. They had then the Celebration and Fiesta Queen that are 149 passenger boats. There is a full service bar, snack bar and restrooms on board. We really enjoyed the day and the views up on the top deck were wonderful. They have 3 to 5 narrated sightseeing cruises a...

  • The Casinos

What i love the most about Lauglin is that you have the river and the Casinos. Trust me, when it gets to be 10y7 degrees F. the river is a good thing, but if you would rather be indoors, the Vegas like casinos is the place to be.

Though this museum started as a specialty display for WWII veterans visiting Laughlin, continued donations of materials from the public led to expansion, a permanent home, and the change to recognizing all American Veterans :)This museum is just part of the American Heroes theme over at the Ramada Express ..... according to what I saw - this has...

There are so many choices for cruising the Colorado River - and next time I'll take one!For now, be content to know they exist, and that you can cruise from Laughlin to the north, or from Laughlin to the south (and back in both cases ...) Prices seem reasonable to me - just hadn't brought my motion sickness treatments on the trip!!Use the web link...

  • An inexpensive boating option ...

The water taxis take you to the docks of the various casinos along the river in Laughlin. Until recently, it would cost $2 one way - a fantastic low cost option for exploration. But now, they charge $5 one way (they say d/t the gas price increase). This price increase kept me off the boats except for the first day ....For a single day's wandering,...

  • Yummmmmmmyyyyyyyyy!

Though it describes itself as a steakhouse, I foundthe menu a little more eclectic than the usual meat and potato fair that I think of when describing a steakhouse. The interior is of dark woods, an a wonderful riverfront view. The entry has photos of those 'old Hollywood' and 'old Las Vegas' personalities ..... I enjoyed the memories they brought...

The food quality was wonderful, the service suburb, and the price was waaaay less than I would have expected! I liked everyting I...

Though I hate standing in line for meals, I did so here only once. The staff are friendly, and efficient - The food was quite good ... not outstanding mind you .... but good enough to come back once or twice ;) I liked their french toast, as well as their omelettes .... I don't usually go for breakfast buffets as I don't think I can eat that much...

Located in Harrah's Laughlin Casino and Hotel, we wanted a relative place to eat that was smoke free and this place at the time offered that. So we ventured down here to eat and were not disappointed. Lots of food to chose from and the services was great. It was a little cheaper back then. Yet, the food is usually great at most buffets.Meals...

  • Deli sandwiches

Along the back wall of the Golden Nugget, facing the river is this little deli. It's standard deli food (sandwiches and soup). Price ranges are a little high for what you might expect, but not too outrageous ($7 for a sandwich and small drink). They are very generous with the meat on the sandwich, and of course, there's a nice big pickle involved...

Laughlin Nightlife

  • Any sign of life

In a city full of pensioners, Riverside is the only hope for the under 70's. The hotel complex has young people, yes you read that right. With a bowling alley, an arcade and 2, yes 2 nightclub bars, there is hope for some fun.The first time I went here, there was a great band on in one club, and a 70's night in the upstairs club. It was cheap beer,...

  • Walking the riverwalk ....

I enjoyed the riverwalk .... though a hot day, shade and the nearby water diverted my attention from the warmth. I enjoyed the various forms of beauty along this path .... trees, grass, ducks, crappie in the water, jetskis zooming past ....... a very nice diversion. This pathway follows the riverbank on the Laughlin side of the Colorado river, and...

Most of the riverfront casinos are connected not only by a riverfront walkway, but also by a water taxi service. My best recollection is that it costs $1.50. You can get a free boat ride by parking your car in one of the casino parking lots across the river in Bullhead City, Arizona.

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Most of the folks that work here are providing a service to you and do not get a cut of the money that you may have lost here on the tables or in the slots.

Please do not forget to tip them for good service and smile to them once and a while. Remember that you are the one on holiday and they are working the weekend.

Laughlin Warnings and Dangers

  • Outlaw Motorcyclists

Every spring there is a River Run that attracts thousands of motorcycle aficionados to the Laughlin area. Now most bikers are law-abiding citizens; many motorcycle clubs claim, with some justification, that they are victims of police sensationalism and media hype. But late one night last April (2002) there was a firefight on the casino floor at...
