Driving around and taking in the views. The trees during the summer are so green and beautiful. The lake is even more beautiful than the mountain views.

Living in Markleeville for years, on the California/Nevada border, we have eaten at many, many casino buffets over the years. We are not big fans of casino buffet food generally. However, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection of this buffet. The price was $12.95 for dinner. Entrees included prime rib, turkey, various cooked to order pasta dishes, made to order sushi, fajitas, and much more. Large salad and desert selections also.

    Favorite Dish: Pasta Putanesca

    The view .....

Kitchen 19 is on the .... um .... 19th floor of Harvey's. There is a lounge/bar and a restaurant. Like all the other restaurants in the casino, we couldn't get seating until after 9pm! So much for last minute decisions, eh? We were offered the option of eating in the lounge, and being quite peaked from hunger by this point, we chose that option. Another couple shared their lounge area and table, which had an amazing view of the lake, and we pigged out on Hors D’oeuvres since we couldn't decide what from their menu we really wanted! A great decision on our part :)

We had yummy lettuce wrapes, calimari, pot stickers, goat cheese and spinach and a few other things. Each item was well made, tastey, and filling as a group. My only complaint was the service. Out waitress seemed to have difficulties in keeping up with us .. she checked on us infrequently, forgot items, didn't ask us for further drinks or food .... the usual bad service things that put a bad spin on an otherwise pleasant evening.

Cabo Wabo is located underground between Harvey's and Harrah's. As a matter of fact, you can reach the access point from either property's casino floor.

This club is not my usual cup of tea ... but the music was live and a fun mix of oldies, 80's and such. The band was good and interacted well with the customers. The energy was definitely that of a 'party til you puke' joint, and that's the only part I didn't like. I danced for a couple of hours, but around midnight the club turned into a cruising joint; you know the type .... folks searching for their latest one night stand. I left the rest of the bridal party alone to have their fun without me.

There's no cover charge, the dance floor is small, but the air circulation is quite good :)

Dress Code: Flip flops and shorts to dressy club wear ... anything goes for this joint's dress code :)

Favorite thing: Buffalo Bills Casino. They have a great roller coaster ride, a tower free fall type of ride while sitting down and a water log ride which travels through parts of the interior casino. You'll also be equiped with a shooting gallery type gun while on the log ride, in which you shoot at different targets throughout the ride. Your score will be calculated at the end.

Favorite thing: This casino used to be called Primadonna. They changed their name after an incident which occurred approximately 6 years ago. I've heard the story in detail and will refrain from telling it.

Favorite thing: Whiskey Petes Casino. This Casino has the cheaper week night hotel rate of $18. The rooms are nice and so is the pool area.
