Thorne Pond was not originally there; it was created to provide artificial snow for Attitash. It wasn't just left as a big puddle though; it was made into a conservation area that's actually quite decent. There are several marked walking trails, including one around the pond.

Moose Country!

Sorry, no picture of Story Land ... just these tired looking people with a moose dressed in flannel shorts!

They are open for the season beginning Memorial Day Weekend; then opens Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only through June 15. Then they are open fulltime on a daily basis starting, June 16 through Labor Day. Operating hours from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day are 9 am to 6 pm. After Labor Day they are open Saturdays and Sundays only, 10 am to 5 pm, until last operating day of the season which is Columbus Day.

I think they're TOO expensive, but if you want to find something with young children, this is the place for you. Unless you have too many kids over the age of 3 that is.

Everything is included in the pay-one-price admission of $20.00 per person, ages 1, 2, and 3 are free, and it is good for a full day of adventure which includes 20 rides, 4 live shows, multiple attractions, free parking, and free strollers on a first come, first serve basis. They have pet kennels and lockers available on-site also. ( Wheelchairs are available free of charge, just check with Guest Services upon entering the park.)

New Hampshire pumpkin heads!

Stopping to see the pumpkin people and visiting the gift shops along Routes 302 & 16 while driving through Bartlett and North Conway.

This gift shop is a real covered bridge:

See my shopping tip ...

The pumpkin people are throughout the area towns and such fun to see. This is a contest for the local area businesses and sponsored by the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce. This event attracts visitors to these villages to take the self-guided tour of the pumpkin people. Maps are produced and made available at the chamber office as well as member businesses

Sacro River Covered Bridge

The owners of the bridge and gift shop are Marc and Mary Ellen Frydman. In 1990 the Frydmans renovated the bridge at the cost of approximately $38,000.
