Favorite Dish: I don't remember what we had while there, but I do remember that we liked it.
There is a small little convenience store at the end of the main road in Durham called Campus Convenience. It mostly caters to the college students who attend the University of New Hampshire. Besides selling large quantities of beer and cigarettes, however, they also make fresh sub sandwiches which all go by strange names such as "The Hedgehog". The best of these is the "Duncan the Pony", a barbecue rib sandwich with onions and melted cheese. It must be tried - the best BBQ rib sandwich to be found in New England, in my opinion. For a truly "Durham" experience wash it down with the local elixer of choice (due to it's cheap price) - Natural Light beer, commonly known by the students as "Natty Light".
THERE ARE TWO COLLEGE-ORIENTED STORES ALONG MAIN STREET where you can buy UNH sweatshirts, coffee mugs, decals and so on. Both are very nice and have a large selection.
Town & Campus is the name of one, I don't remember the other one but they are both good and are only a block or so apart.
What to buy: Anything that says "University of New Hampshire."
What to pay: reasonable prices
