    Mountains, Trees and Fresh Air!

by RhondaRuth Updated Mar 6, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: The White Mountains have the most spectacular scenery in the East. The Franconia Notch State Park includes the Basin, The Flume, Boise Rock, The Watcher, Profile and Echo Lake, Eagle Cliff, Cannon Mountain, and the famed Old Man of the Mountains. And most of this is FREE for the viewer.

Biking or walking along the trails while looking at mountain & lake views. Picnic areas around also, so pack a lunch to bring with you. You can spend a day without spending a dime if you wanted to!

Fondest memory: Volunteering at the American Lung Association of New Hampshire's fund raiser walk. I either did the photography or raised money and WALKED. The people I met there were the best and I had the best time with them!

The Flume is GORGE-ous (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Fondest memory: When we arrived at the Flume's Park Information Center, we were informed that admission was free for the day. I didn't ask why, who am I to question? Admission is only $8 for adults anyway and would have been well worth every penny.
