Lebanon almost feels like an Italian town... the life of the city, or perhaps, most of its interesting points and activities are arranged around the town square. You won't see a whole lot of people strolling around or congregating in the square, but it's still nice to see. The Town Hall historic building reminds some people of the little town in "Back to the future".

This restaurant just underwent a strange transformation. It used to look like a regular pizza joint with a counter to order at and many small tables. Now it looks like a regular pizza joint inside a cave. They're sculpting the walls for a faux stone look. They haven't re-opened yet though.. so no word on the food yet.

The sushi is quite good, the other dishes are as well. It has the best sushi of the area, though I haven't been to the new Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse in West Lebannon yet. The ambiance is very stylish with several private booths or open tables. You also have the option of sitting up at the sushi bar.
Favorite Dish: The sushi of course! I usually go with the sushi boat, it has a decent variety of samples. I usually get the edamame (steamed soybean pods) as an appetizer. The sushi boat comes with miso soup, which isn't the greatest at this restaurant due to a proponderance of leeks.

This place has a diner feel to it. It is at a truck stop attached to a convience store. They serve typical American food. I usually go there for the dessert though after eating elsewhere. They have a big display up front with several types of cakes, pies and pudding.
Favorite Dish: The dessert! Depends on what's in the display. I just go up front and point at what looks best to me. I usually grab a hot chocolate too. It comes topped with whipped cream.

This is a good restaurant, but don't expect too much. The menu has many Chinese dishes and a few Japanese, as well. I think their Chinese cooking is just average - you can't compare the food with what you get in Chinatown in Boston, but it's a little more towards the authentic than most restaurants around. The sushi, on the other hand, is better than average for the Upper Connecticut Valley.
Favorite Dish: The Chirashi Sushi is very good. It's nice to see that these people understand that sushi is more than just maki-sushi (rolls). If I remember correctly, they even serve temaki-sushi (handrolls). On the Chinese menu, the Peking duck and the eggplant in garlic sauce are my favourite picks.

A lot of Italian restaurants in the USA go out of their way to make fancy food, when the best of Italian cooking lies in its simplicity. Three Tomatoes doesn't go crazy using a million different ingredients in a dish - they use good, fresh produce and the taste of their food shows it.
Favorite Dish: The pizza is great, if you like thin crust. Try the "Tonno", if you want a taste of Italian tuna packed in olive oil - it's my favourite by far. The pasta dishes are good, even if the pasta is not made in the house.

Address: On The Downtown Lebanon Mall, right off The Green.
Using the Advance Transit bus (which is FREE) you can go pretty much everywhere around Lebanon. The main stop in town is in front of the Three Tomatoes Trattoria (a good place to eat) and from there you can go to several points in Hanover, Canaan, West Lebanon, etc.
