    No Running Water

by RhondaRuth Written Oct 24, 2003

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Not really a Danger ... more like some advise.
There are decent Restrooms at some of the viewing stops along the Kanc, but remember this is the wilderness and the State Forest so there is no running water in the restrooms.

Bring "Waterless Hand Cleaner" to wash your hands. The one time I forgot ... my friend had some on hand.

This is part of "being prepared", huh?

  • Beware the Bears & other wildlife - on the road!

by greenvalleyangel Written Jul 20, 2003

After sadly sideswiping (I'll use this word -
it sounds so much better than hitting) a bear
on part of Rte. 16, a caution to watch out
for animals on the road. I always thought
that I did, but this little bear (1st I've seen in
New Hampshire) came out of nowhere.
Believe me, it is not a good feeling for either
    the bear or you.
