Tucked away on a side street in Downtown Manchester, the Red Arrow Diner has survived the ups and downs of this newly hip city. Straight-up spot, in a a true dining car....the Red Arrow has the typical diner menu and assorted pies. Inexpensive and lots of fun in the middle of the night - if you can get a seat.
Favorite Dish: I stick with the basics: pancakes, omelettes, and tuna melts. But, if they've got Kielbasa, get the Kielbasa!
I've eaten at "Cotton", twice. Two great experiences, and I'm compelled to recommend. Entrees are pricey for NH(avg. $16), but the diningroom is warm and the food fantastic. The ambience suggests a classic, egalitarian American bistro, but, clearly, this dining room aims to draw the elite of Manchester.
Favorite Dish: I last had a wood grilled chicken breast with choice of sides. Great service.
Seafood and Steakhouse.... I've always enjoyed their steak.
Favorite Dish: My favorite meal is Filet Mignon and The Yard always served a great one.
Their Sunday Brunch is VERY popular also and I enjoyed those as well! Everything you can think of is set out to pick from.
On a drive from Ottawa to Boston, my boyfriend and I made a stop in Manchester, New Hampshire to find a place to eat dinner. We were both in the mood for some Mexican and after driving around for a while, we found Margarita's and decided to head in to see what was good. It had quite a great atmosphere, really bright and fun and the staff was very friendly. I can't remember exacly what we ordered, but I remember we both thought it was delicious (and hey, isn't that what's important?). Definitely a place I would recommend for some good Mexican food... check out their website for all of their other locations in the New England area!
Ladi Lalas walked out of Hungary to the West when the secret police closed his bakery in Budapest. He is originally from Timisoara, and many of the dishes were immediately recognizable to my sons when they came from Romania.
The entrees are authentic, and hearty (who else serves yellow beans these days?). But it is the pastry products you want to stock up on.
Favorite Dish: I like the scnitzel and the stuffed cabbage, which is very like Romanian sarmale.
Ignore that. Empty the bakery.
THIS IS ESSENTIALLY A REPRODUCTION OF ONE OF THOSE OLD ALUMINUM DINERS. The menu is varied and gives you good value for your dollar. Waitresses are very nice and know their job.
The Airport Inn is located almost directly across the street from the Super 8. However to safely walk there, go a short distance south to the stoplight and push the walk button to get across a very busy Brown Avenue.

Favorite Dish: I had the eggs benedict with baked beans and a cup of coffee. It was $5.99 plus coffee. Not bad, and very tasty.
Later I had a cup of soup and a slice of homemade apple pie. Excellent. Pie is $2.99/slice and well worth it.
Place looks like it hasn't changed since the 70s, but that's what makes it so great! There is always a wait during dinner time on weekends- I've found 2pm on Saturday gets you almost right in! They give you plenty of rolls and pita bread with real butter to start off with, yum! Full menu, they have just about everything in addition to take-out and ice cream...
Favorite Dish: Fried Chicken Tender dinner - they are famous for them! The portions are huge, and goes great with their duck sauce and steak fries... You'll have enough for another meal and them some!
This used to be a wonderful smoke-filled greasy spoon, replete with old drunks and a jukebox with songs you had forgotten about. Since diners became chic, it has tried to elevate itself a notch: non-smoking, more emphasis on dinners than on all-night breakfast, clean bathrooms, and diner souveniers. It is still a bit of nostalgia for those of us of a certain age, but it is less authentic than it was.
Favorite Dish: Breakfast
COAST TO COAST, Panera Bread is our favorite place to eat. As they say, its not fast food, its good food fast. and they are right. Give it a try.
Favorite Dish: They have a Turkey Artichoke sandwich that I always like.
