    Castle in the Clouds

by RhondaRuth Written Oct 21, 2003

    The Castle Tour...
The Lucknow mansion was built by Thomas Plant in 1913 to last for centuries. This majestic home features walls of granite stone from the mountain itself, a landmark Spanish red slate roof with a gentle Oriental slope and various structures of English, Norwegian, Swiss chalet and Japanese design.

Someone called it a Tourist Trap, I call it a Must See ... I really enjoyed seeing the design & style of the Castle and I've been there 3 times now.

It was a rainy day this last visit, but I did get a few pictures inside. Check out my Travelogue below. Injoy a "mini-tour."

The Carriage House: Take a snack break at the Stables!

by RhondaRuth Updated Oct 21, 2003

At the Castle in the Clouds the Stables have been turned into a little Cafe with functions rooms and patio for events and weddings. The cafe had fast food items to order while you wait for the next tour transportation up to the Castle.

Favorite Dish: Waffle Fries and a cup of Coffee ... nothing could be better on a cold rainy day! Coffee was only $1.00 ... where can you pay only a dollar for coffee these days?

We sat by a fireplace that had just been lite for customers to enjoy. Nice and cozy!

    Waffle fries, yum-yum!
